jj-cf-stlParticipantNow it flips to us…..
Speed on base and best hitters up.Just do the crooked number thing and sweep.
April 28, 2024 at 3:28 pm #250000Getting caught with Siani up with two outs and nobody to hit for him was a killer. We are very lucky to have survived the 10th.
April 28, 2024 at 3:30 pm #250001Nice to take the lead, but I’d like to have that baserunner back with no outs.
April 28, 2024 at 3:33 pm #250002
jj-cf-stlParticipantRan ourselves out of that inning
April 28, 2024 at 3:33 pm #250003Unbelievable. You have to be able to count to 3 in this game.
April 28, 2024 at 3:35 pm #250004I’ll be pleasantly surprised if a 1 run lead holds up.
April 28, 2024 at 3:42 pm #250005
jj-cf-stlParticipantGood effort Libby. Hat-tip.
April 28, 2024 at 3:42 pm #250006What a shame!
But a hell of a game none-the-less.
April 28, 2024 at 3:44 pm #250007Not going to win many with 4 hits in 11 innings.
April 28, 2024 at 3:49 pm #250008Really good game. So close and yet – so far
Still, won the series and for the week clawed back from 4 games under to only 2.
What we need is a nice 10 game winning streak!
April 28, 2024 at 3:50 pm #250009A strike away from a win, but it’s tough to beat the odds. Libby did a nice job all in all. Once again though we let too many opportunities slip away.
April 28, 2024 at 4:02 pm #250011Once again I curse he who dreamed up this phantom runner nonsense.
April 28, 2024 at 4:13 pm #250012Libby did a nice job all in all.
And at the end of the day it will help us in September, I’ll tell you that..
April 28, 2024 at 4:35 pm #250013Right now, Burleson looks as “dialed in” as any Cardinals hitter against RHP. Anybody disagree?
April 28, 2024 at 5:45 pm #250015At Golden Coral?
April 28, 2024 at 5:59 pm #250016Liberatore jumped ahead to an 0-2 count on both Bader and Vientos and couldn’t put either one of them away before surrendering the game tying single followed by the walk off tater. He’s never had a consistently effective out pitch. In any event, the primary issue seems to be that the Cardinals are 27th in runs scored.
April 28, 2024 at 6:00 pm #250017I wish we had retained Quintana after 2022, although he would not have done anything last year, and I wish we had inked Monty this year. Having those two lefties with Matz as a bullpen pitcher would be pretty darn good.
Unfortunately it would not help our anemic offense.
April 28, 2024 at 6:03 pm #250018The Mets’ winning pitcher of decision is now 5-0 and it’s still April. He may win 20 games out of the BP…Haha!
Edit…I just checked and he’s tied for the lead in W’s.
April 28, 2024 at 6:46 pm #250020BOCfan, why not an attempt at a relevant baseball response? Let me help you out. Do you feel Burleson should be sent down to AAA when Carlson and Edman return?
April 28, 2024 at 7:26 pm #250021Right now, Burleson looks as “dialed in” as any Cardinals hitter against RHP. Anybody disagree?
Disagree. Nobody is “dialed in” when their OPS is below .700.
The Cardinals only have two players who are performing well at the plate – Winn & Contreras.
Do you feel Burleson should be sent down to AAA when Carlson and Edman return?
Yes. He should & will be sent to AAA when Carlson & Edman come back.
April 28, 2024 at 7:30 pm #250023Right now they need anyone who’s capable of swinging a bat. I’d guess Siani ships out before Burleson.
April 28, 2024 at 7:31 pm #250024I don’t know. Siani can play CF, is an excellent defender and can run the bases.
Burleson can hit slightly better than Siani, is a terrible outfielder and can’t run.
April 28, 2024 at 7:59 pm #250025Yeah, who knows, LA? Anyone’s guess is as good as mine. I’m only going by 4 hits in 11 innings. Right now they’re starved for offense.
April 28, 2024 at 8:00 pm #250026LACardFan, “Burleson can hit slightly better than Siani”. Are you blind? Most professional baseball scouts would get a good chuckle out of that ridiculous comment.
April 28, 2024 at 8:12 pm #250027I get a good chuckle out of your obsession with Burleson’s hitting prowess.
So far, in the majors, he has done absolutely nothing in 458 PAs.
When Burleson can OPS above .800 in the majors, I will say he deserves to stay.
But as long as he is below .700, he deserves to be sent down to AAA to work on his swing.
