RHP Lance Lynn (1-0, 2.81) vs. LHP Jose Quintana (1-2, 4.21)

Also BS Southeast and Southwest ExtraApril 25, 2024 at 8:56 am #249495Heavy dose of lefties lately.
April 27, 2024 at 6:29 pm #249892Thanks for putting these up Brian. It makes it easy to come right here for game time and starting pitchers. And thanks to Blinger for getting the lineups in.
April 27, 2024 at 8:06 pm #249905We are at the 1/6 point of the 2024 season. And……
Arenado – 1 homerun. On pace for 6 for the year.
Goldschmidt – 2 homeruns. On pace for 12 for the year.
What is wrong with these two peapickers?

April 27, 2024 at 8:26 pm #249910You have to be excited with LL taking a turn in NY today. You just know Lance destroyed a couple dozen Bavarian Bismarks for Sunday morning breakfast. Probably washed them down with frosted mugs of ice cold root beer.
April 27, 2024 at 8:27 pm #249911Haha!…”Peapickers”
April 27, 2024 at 9:48 pm #249913They have looked slightly better recently. Let’s see how they react when the weather warms up.
April 28, 2024 at 12:11 am #249915Bless their pea-pickin’ hearts. I bet Rat listened to a little Tennessee Ernie Ford back in the day.
April 28, 2024 at 9:58 am #249926Win today and it’s 4 in a row and back to .500. Maybe even get out of the cellar.
April 28, 2024 at 10:54 am #249928You can book this one in the “L” column as it is real tough to sweep a .500 team in their park, plus our old buddy “Q” will want to come at us with his best stuff.
As for the two “peapickers”, I believe Roger Maris did not hit his first home run of 1961 until May 1st. Now the season started later in those days, and the Yankees had a lot of lousy weather early on in ’61. But no need to dwell too much on numbers right now as players do not usually hit homers at a steady pace all season. They will hit ’em in bunches for awhile, then have a drought.

jj-cf-stlParticipantRecently I’ve liked how Oli used his best relievers. We need wins. Without them we are sellers.
These same relievers, and the concern over IP totals, may be playing for someone else the 2nd half.
Forget the “get away day” lineup. Get the win Oli.
April 28, 2024 at 11:45 am #249931Din-din today will be a Ribeye steak in the air fryer and some jumbo crinkle cut french fries. Along with an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew. Then a big bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream for dessert. Then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar while me and Whitey Herdog are on the couch, tuning in.
I hope the guy shows up today that is going to help me get the skunk out from underneath my 3-car garage with the 1,000 sq foot finished apartment above it for my rental property. I had a skunk dig under the garage and I want to get it out.

jj-cf-stlParticipantDoes this guy do critter removal?
You can flush him out, but then what?
Hahaha!April 28, 2024 at 12:08 pm #249933First off, Jojo, Kittredge and Helsley have been dominate. It’s been great to have a backend BP that you aren’t terrified of!
That being said, after back to back nights for the trio, I’d have to believe all 3 are off limits for today’s matinee? It’s a long season and we don’t want to see the burnout that we have witnessed all to often in past seasons.
Gallegos, Fernandez and Libby should take over those roles for the day. Or Lynn could just throw a CG?

CF Mike Siani LApril 28, 2024 at 12:17 pm #249935That’s really something that Roger didn’t connect for his first of 61 HR’s until the month of May. It only serves to better illustrate the sort of rampage he displayed for the remainder of that ’61 season. I also recall being a bit mystified the first time I ever noticed that Maris didn’t receive a solitary IBB during that 1961 season. Then I thought about the ominous sight of Mantle looming on deck…Haha!
April 28, 2024 at 12:31 pm #249938I think this lineup is about the best we can do with what we’ve got. Sometimes the algo finds an acorn. We’ve got the B team in the pen, so we better score some runs.
April 28, 2024 at 12:36 pm #249940
jj-cf-stlParticipantMe too bling. I like how he’s moving Noot in and out of the 3 spot, according to the matchup.
April 28, 2024 at 12:43 pm #249942LL’s done pretty well to this point, but he’s prone to serve up too many taters. He’d better be careful or Alonso could rip a month’s worth today.
April 28, 2024 at 12:47 pm #249943Yep we will be relying on the bullpen B team today so hopefully Lynn is sharp and the bats are alive.
Much of the #STLCards recent success has been because their bullpen has been solid. JoJo Romero, Andrew Kittredge and Ryan Helsley closed out wins on Fri and Sat. However, they won’t be available today, opening chances for Matthew Liberatore, Ryan Fernandez & Giovanny Gallegos.

jj-cf-stlParticipantI’ll take Gallegos as my pick to click. He needs a good day.
High pitch count for Q…
April 28, 2024 at 12:58 pm #249945Yeah, that was a determined AB from Herrera.
April 28, 2024 at 1:01 pm #249946Nice 1st inning for LL. I happened to notice that he should surpass 2000 K’s this season.
April 28, 2024 at 1:09 pm #249947This team wastes a lot of doubles.
April 28, 2024 at 1:14 pm #249948I see this season as pivital for Noot. So many Cardinals developed hitters seem to get off to a promising start and then just sort of flounder. I really hope he has some staying power.
