Great question, JJ. Of course we’ll be updating Chiefs draft selections on our APPLE TV PBP game this evening. Consider it an all encompassing broadcast tonight where besides being kept abreast on all other MLB games, you’ll get all NFL draft selections, NBA playoff scores, soccer scores from around the globe, cricket results from the land down under, stock market closing numbers and of course all of the court testimonies on the day from one, David Jay Pecker.

Count me in as excited to hear tonight’s take on how the Bangladesh cricket season is going!

Pugs, I may join you in the cockpit tonight as I have an AppleTV subscription and plan to watch the game for better or for worse.

Did a computer spit out this horrible lineup construction? Or is this all on Olive Oil?

I swear for the life of me I cannot understand why soooo many big league personnel don’t understand how a lineup should be made.

Sweet! Jnevel on-board in the booth this evening. Don’t bring your A-Game tonight, Jnevel……we don’t want to spoil them too bad……your C-Game will still knock their socks off.

Oh Mikolas is on the bump. Shall I expect the standard spotting the opponent 2 in the 1st and 2 or 3 in the 4th or 5th?

Between “Olive Oil”, Mikolas, and David Jay Pecker; forget the exit strategy, don’t be late.

We’ll, the good news is this should be the last Apple TV+ broadcast for the season according to the published broadcast schedule at Cardinals.com. The rest are 95% Bally Sports with a few Fox and ESPNs thrown in.

Funny JJ! Let us not forget Joey Buttofuoco too, that someone brought up earlier in this thread.

OK so know one wants to know why Winn isn’t in the lineup. Thank me for doing your homework. It’s a scheduled day off so he gets 2 in a row to help with inflamed back. He had a choice of Wednesday or today. He picked today because he wanted to hit against Monty. Your welcome!

CardsRS4Ever – Apple TV decides around 2 weeks in advance which Friday night game it is going to broadcast. So there may be more to come.

Pugs – I think I only have my C-Game left so no worries there. Maybe I’ll just recap the commercials between innings. That will give them all the true full experience. This inning was brought to you by . . .

Ollie needs a quick hook tonight. We had a day off and then 6 games until another day off. So we can lean on the pen if needed. I’m not saying first inning quick hook. But if Mikey gets in trouble in the 4th, then sayonara MM and hello my friend Rule 5 Ryno.

For the record, Mets are pond scum.

There were many Mets’ players of the 80’s that I detested, but for one reason or another the first two that always come to mind when I think of NY pond scum are Jesse Orosco and Howard Johnson. I always take comfort in the fact that Howard Johnson may well be the all time leader in post-season futility and could certainly be called the “King of Choke”…During postseason play, “HoJo” was 1 for 26 for a BA of .038 and his solitary hit was a single…Haha!

    Some ex-Cardinals and their FWAR:

    E Montero: -.5
    L Thomas: -.4
    R Arozarena: -.3
    G Cabrera: -.3
    R Urias: -.3
    N Martini: -.2
    A Knizner: -.2
    J Brebbia: -.2

    M Ozuna: 1.3
    A Garcia: .9
    T O’Neill: .9
    Z Gallen: .8
    R Palacios: .5
    J Flaherty: .5
    P DeJong: .4
    J Hicks: .4

Maybe now that Lane Thomas is statistically one of the worst fielders in baseball and hitting under .200 he won’t be brought up anymore. We need to keep an eye on Palacios though. Kittredge has been fantastic, but Palacios has a lot longer runway to add value. Hicks is interesting too. Not that he would have still been under contract anyway. But I’m interested in seeing his conversion to starter.

Top of 1. Jose Butto center stage for the Mets.

Donovan – Rolls it on the ground wide of 1st where Alonso ranges over to his right to glove it and he’ll heave it overhand in stride to his pitcher Butto who’ll step on the bag in plenty of time to register this game’s first out.

    Contreras – Walks.

Nooty – Grounds it out to McNeill at 2nd and this has twin killing written all over it….flips to Lindor at 2nd for one and over to 1st to complete the 4-6-3 inning ending double play.

Dating back to last year, no pitcher in baseball has surrendered more hits than Miles Mikolas…….not good. To be somewhat fair, he did register 35 starts though.

What happened? Did Alonso bounce into a doubleplay?

EDIT: Yep, that’s what happened. No score after one.

Donovan with a very good running catch in foul territory and then the pitcher’s best friend relieves Mikolas of his trouble in the 1st.

The Birds have a twin killing in their quiver too to end the bottom of the 1st in a scoreless affair.

Butto does walk a lot of hitters and struggles with wildness some. But he doesn’t give up many hits.
