Yeah, but I didn’t get one until I was in my mid 30’s. It was off the bat of Bret Boone of the Reds during a weekday day game. I’m boasting, but it was a highlight reel one handed grab on a slicing foul ball and I got a standing O from the field box section and surrounding area in which was situated …Haha! No kidding…I still have that baseball.

Would like to see Lynn in the 7th as well, but he looks pretty worn out.

Springfield gave up 13 runs tonight. They did have the best ERA in the Texas League coming into tonight. Rajcic got really thumped to start it off.

Cool balls, BicycleMike. Too bad those autographs faded. I’ve told this story before, so I won’t go into detail, but on two occasions Luis Tiant of Boston faked like he was going to flip me a ball out in the outfield bullpen of Milwaukee County stadium. What kind of creep does that to an impressionable and loveable 8 year old?

Luis Tiant just looked mean. I didn’t realize he actually was mean.

No one does that to an impressionable and lovable 8 year old, but a smart-alecky kid gets the treatment Tiant did. 😀

Man, looked like Donovan had a great jump, but took forever to get to second.

TD snagged one…….good job TD! In your 30’s…..yeah still at an age where it would be a fantastic thrill….especially getting an ovation from the crowd……that would have been priceless if you had that on video. Something to pass down to the grandkids….the ball and the video.

He was as mean as a rattlesnake, Jnevel and BicycleMike. I had more than one run-in with him out there in the bullpen. Granted I heckled him some, but you can’t fault an 8 year old for that. If he had flipped me a ball I would have named a child or grandchild after him. A ball back then would have meant that much to me.

    Nice play by Victor!

I’m surprised to see Lynn go back out there. He looked to be wearing down.

Really like that Ollie stuck with Lynn here – showing him some confidence. It is a fairly weak hitting team, but still that is even more reason not to over-manage.

JoJo is warmed up. But not coming in to face the lefty. It probably works out with the ineptitude of the A’s.

Lynn is a horse…..not quite the thoroughbred that he once was. Maybe like one of those big plow horses that just trudges along slowly but surely getting the job done……sometimes. Well he gets the job done tonight, pitching 7 innings strong and exiting the game with a 3-2 lead.

LL works a full 7 IP’ed and exits with a 3-2 lead. He’s ready for a dozen Bavarian Bizmarks and root beer…

I wouldn’t put that past LL, TD. The older I get the fonder I’ve become with donuts. Get the right ones and they are marvelous treats. I could sit down and eat 6 big ones…..but usually opt for only 3.

None of the 3 Cardinal RBI’s have been pushed across HP as a result of a base hit.

Just 4 hits for us thus far through 8 and none for extra bases.

JoJo pitching the 8th and Arenado makes a splendid play on the very first batter, doing his part of keeping A’s in the dugout and not on the base paths.

Those Bavarian Bismarks are my favorite, Pugs. I can eat those things like I’m mad at ’em.

That buddy that was with me when we got the baseballs played third base in college. He told me he loves watching Arenado play. Nolie is getting a lot of chances tonight and making all the plays.

Contreras getting it on that left hand again. Rough way to make a living. Molina was the toughest baseball player I’ve ever seen. You couldn’t hurt him with an axe.
