Didn’t you and I talk about Deadwood/Lead a couple of years back? Was that you?

Yeah but that was a different forum. That was over on Gateway Redbirds and it was a few months ago.

Brewers grab an early 2-0 advantage in Wrigley…..that won’t last long.

It is a matter of who is doing the stealing. With Fowler on second, and Wong on first, I don’t take the chance. Fowler hasn’t stolen ten bases in the past three individual years. He has always been a risk in that he does get thrown out a lot. He came into the day only stealing seven of ten for the season, and those were to second base, not third.

If it had been Wong or Bader at second, I might have taken a shot. I liked keeping the pressure on Bauer to throw strikes and would rather that he make a mistake to Goldschmidt or Ozuna. But, at least Wong has shown that he can steal third. I think he is more like 18 of 20. I think Ozuna is a safer threat on the bases than Fowler. They would actually have a better shot at getting Fowler at second than Wong at third.

    Well stated, RememberDiz.

We’re in the bottom of the 6th in a 6-2 Cardinal ballgame. Let’s polish these guys off quickly so we can get to Game 2. We get the sweep today and I sleep like a baby tonight…… it’s that simple.

I hate to see all those good seats wasted. They should figure a way to give kids those seats. Be good for the teams’ future.

Alaniz balks in Bader and just like that we’re looking at a 7-2 ballgame….sweet!

Or just comp a couple of those primo seats to me and Carter….. we’ll give the team a good presence right behind home plate…..something the team can be proud of.

Bader on base does scare people. Bader and Wong are our threats. Edman may be. We need to see more of him running. Ozuna seems to be doing well this year, not so much earlier. But, he is 12 of 13 this year.

May be the last inning for Hudson. Has 86 pitches with one out.

Barnhart just said a very naughty word in the Reds dugout after not adequately running out a grounder…..if I’m the Reds skipper, I’m taking that as a double whammy.

Could you actually squeeze that bulk into a stadium seat?

Goldy plates Wong with an opposite field single…..8-2 Cards in the 7th and we can cease with the stolen base attempts for this game .

It’s difficult, Carter, but my lovely wifey certainly hasn’t minded it over the years…..ooops, sorry…..forgot for a moment that this site is G rated.

Wong was at 216 on May 30. Now is at 281. Was on three times in the last two games from the two spot.

I think the Galves ground ball to end the sixth was the only chance for Wong in the field today.

    Hudson begins with 93 pitches.

Wong really had the burners on for that last score.

I believe when Wong, Edman, O’Neill and Bader are on the field together, there cannot conceivably be a faster ML team can there?

Simple but certainly succulent din-din lineup for you tonight, Wooster. I always get the same thing at Miller, Wooster,…..2 polish dogs with mustard, onions and kraut and some waffle fries. Tonight it’s Popeyes for me since I’m bacheloring it…..2 piece breast, large red beans & rice and 3 apple cinnamon pies…..though I could probably down 6 of those rascals.

    Okey-doke

Reds guys said “the Cards are playing .700 ball when they score just 3 runs”….I guess our staff is pretty good.

Oh oh…..bases totally occupied with Reds here in the 8th with 2 outs and a Redleg in…..Gallegos yields a 3 run gapper to Barnhart and suddenly this laugher is no longer the least bit amusing as it’s now 8-6 Cards with the Reds looking for more.

Reds have the go ahead run at the plate in the person of Mr. Phillip Ervin….who grounds out to put an end to this miserable inning. 8-6 Cards heading to the bottom of the 8th.
