I took a quick look at the Nats schedule. They have a mix of 7:05, 4:05 and 1:05 starts on Thursday. My guess is that the 4:05 is a compromise for getaway days. Maybe a better gate than 1:05 while school is still on, but not as good of a gate as a 7:05.

During this rain delay I have been searching around on Cars.com. I am considering a 5-series BMW, E-Class Mercedes, or a Lincoln Continental for my next vehicle. Plus I am going to wait until the 2020 models hit the dealerships.

The only thing is I am not sure what I want to do with my 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C. Keep it? Sell it? Trade it in? Big decisions late this summer or early Fall.

I would like to see a occasional Friday night STL double header starting at 4:30 or 5. Don’t see it happening though, barring a rainout.

On the telecast, DannyMac said the reason for the 4:05 starts is that the 1:05 starts have everyone leaving the ballpark during rush hour.

Cards doing well despite higher than average number of man-games lost due to injury.

The old Hudson came back that inning, 2 walks. Luckily there were 2 outs before it happened.

7 K’s thru 4 frames for Strasburg, giving him a neat little career total of 1499 of them. Who will be victim #1500? Marcell possibly?

Oh oh! Nats put the first 2 batters on base via singles in the 4th. Nats have not been swept 4 straight at home since 2009…..they are long overdue.

Munoz botches a tailor made twin killing and throws it away ….tie game, but not for long as Washington has runners on the corners with no outs.

I don’t care what the scorer ruled. Munoz committed two errors on that play as the Nats tied the score at 1-1 in the fourth.

This time Munoz successfully executes the 6-4-3 pitcher’s best friend, but the runner from 3rd does score to put the Nats in front 2-1.

And Dakota Hudson has the distinction of being Strasburg’s 1500th whiff victim.

Lastings Milledge of Pittsburgh was Strasburg’s 1st career strike out in 2010. I thought he played for the Mets.

Leone warming up. Cards are hell bent on not sweeping this series.

“Leone warming up. Cards are hell bent on not sweeping this series.”

If you don’t let Leone pitch in the ninth inning or later, you’re usually okay. Career OPS allowed, very very late in games: over 1.140 in 151 plate appearances. (Not a typo. 1.140+ OPS.)

    6th inning: .657 OPS in 204 PA’s
    7th inning: .675 in 237 PA’s
    8th inning: .644 in 166 PA’s

Lol maybe he’ll be the one sent packing.

Got runners on with 2 out. Tony Sipp vs. Wong.

Leone impressive! We CANNOT lose this game 2-1…..3-1 maybe, but not 2-1! 8th will be our inning.

And NEVER have Leone pitch to Braun. He owns him like Octavio Dotel owned Braun. When Braun came up against Dotel, I just marked down “K”.

Bob, great stats on Leone. And we traded for him as a closer why?

There’s that “DEWITT sign again! Wonder why they like our owner so much???
