I like that the Cubs play those Friday afternoon games. I am surprised more teams don’t do that. People love to leave work early on Friday, and you know the area restaurants and bars like it.

I don’t think they’ve got a choice. I think they’ve got an agreement in place to play day games on Fridays and only Saturday and Sunday games at night unless it’s nationally televised. There’s certain stipulations to the Friday rule when it comes to travel where the city could permit them to play a night game but it’s not often and honestly if you asked the Cubs they’d want to play all Friday night games at home.

Yesterday’s lineup reminded me of one of those Tony LaRussa’s Sunday matinee crazy bench lineups. They would appear when the Cards won the first two or three games and TLR didn’t go after the sweep. His philosophy of taking every series would kick in. Most of the time the Cards lost.

Shildt must have read LaRussa’s book. Ya get what you pay for so 1 run and 2 errors. Hudson gave us every chance to win it. Did our manager try to rest up some starters for the CHC series?

Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you. I always go for the bear 100%.

ONeil is the obvious choice to go down when Gregerson comes up (today?). The guy looks like a Herculean windmill at the plate. He is the living proof that even a blind squirrel can find an acorn some time. Fowler should be ready for this weekend. JMart and his bench routine talking to Fowler on camera last night was better than watching a comedy act. Who needs words – facial expressions are good enough.

ONeill had a bad game against one of the best pitchers in the league..so what?I sure didnt see anyone else doing much of anything either.O`Neill has been doing okay in the roles he has been asked to do so far this season.Being shortsighted and reactionary over one game is flat out dumb IMO.Send One of the 900 pitchers on the staff to AA if Gregerson is brought up.

Had some other things that have been keeping me busy.Just a lot of the usual everyday crap .Seems like when something breaks or goes bad around the house a whole pile of other stuff follows right behind.

Boy, ain’t that the truth. Try coming here more often to take your mind off of your woes. I know some of your comments are controversial around here, but its always good to hear what’s on other fans minds.

We just need a few threads about Tommy Pham to draw BW52 right back in…😂

Hope you can get everything fixed and back to normal soon, BW!

O’Neill’s K rate for this season is 46.2%. Last night, it was 100%. That is not doing ok.

Glad you are back, though, Bw52.

Brian -ONeill fanned his last 5 ABS.That is bad and will definately skew the K rate.Looking past ones nose is required sometimes isnt it?Before yesterday O`Neill was 4 for 14 as a starter and and 6 for 20 as a sub/PH…so yes I think that’s doing okay for the role he has been given.Yes a few more productive outs could be made by him and the rest of the team also.

Brian-not trying to be snarky.Just trying to see the whole picture instead of short attention span theater that seems to be the norm quite often these days.
