Listening to the Brewers announcers and they just said they had one other rain delay in 2012. They said tonight was a popup shower that did not show on radar.
Wong just got a pinch hit double and Bader flies home from 1B. Bader had gotten a 2-out single. Score is 4-1.
August 27, 2019 at 8:51 pm #104031YOWZA! Speed kills, glad Wongs back!
August 27, 2019 at 8:54 pm #104032Wonder if Wong can come in for defense and move Edman to 3B?
August 27, 2019 at 8:59 pm #104033Sounds good to me.
August 27, 2019 at 9:00 pm #104034Very good outing by Mikolas.
August 27, 2019 at 9:00 pm #104035Looked like he ran ok
August 27, 2019 at 9:05 pm #104036Yeah Colhusker , looked really good!
August 27, 2019 at 9:09 pm #104037Giovanny is his usual self in the 7th. Going to the 8th up 4-1.
August 27, 2019 at 9:10 pm #104038Great games for Mikes and Yadi! Just need to close it out here.
August 27, 2019 at 9:18 pm #104039
stlcard25ParticipantThe Cubs won over the Mets so the Cards need to close this one out to maintain the 3 game lead.
August 27, 2019 at 9:20 pm #104040Brewers get a hit to lead off the 8th. Miller relieving Gallegos. I guess we’ll have Miller and CMart to finish it off. Take a couple of nice cleansing breaths.
August 27, 2019 at 9:25 pm #104041That is not what we needed!
August 27, 2019 at 9:25 pm #104042Well this just got really interesting
August 27, 2019 at 9:26 pm #104043Cleansing breaths didn’t work. Miller gives up a 2-run blast to Grandal. Yelich now the tying run with one out in the 8th.
August 27, 2019 at 9:26 pm #104044That’s always such a pet peeve of mine. Why keep your best reliever in to start another inning and then give him such a short leash? I always hate that move
August 27, 2019 at 9:27 pm #104045Not one of Miller’s better outings.
August 27, 2019 at 9:30 pm #104046Now Miller walks Yelich. I agree GACard, there was no need to bring in Miller at that point, Gallegos hadn’t thrown many pitches. Now Shildt has a mess on his hands. Hope we see good CMart tonight or this might go the wrong way.
August 27, 2019 at 9:30 pm #104047
stlcard25ParticipantI had a bad feeling about this game once the Cards took the lead. Miller was not good tonight. Gallegos crushes lefties so why not leave him in there?
August 27, 2019 at 9:33 pm #104048
stlcard25ParticipantAlso, here’s a fun stat…OPS allowed vs LHB this year:
Miller: .708
Webb: .492
Gallegos: .450August 27, 2019 at 9:34 pm #104049
stlcard25ParticipantCarlos with the huge DP ball there to maintain the lead. Man I hope we get good Carlos in the 9th.
August 27, 2019 at 9:35 pm #104050It seems like gallegos’ only earned runs this year are when schildt doesn’t let him finish his inning with a runner on
Don’t stat check that Brian
August 27, 2019 at 9:35 pm #104051Great pitch by Martinez
August 27, 2019 at 9:36 pm #104052CMart comes in with his usual flair and goes 3-0 to Hiura, so you know he’s going to put the winning run on base with a free pass. Wait, check that, he gets Hiura for an inning-ending DP. Whew.
August 27, 2019 at 9:36 pm #104053You can’t take 3-0 against Carlos. It’s like he needs to see one go in the strike zone then he’s fine sometimes
August 27, 2019 at 9:37 pm #104054stlard25, how about emailing that info to Mo/Shildt?
