I thought Gags bit the big one. lol
Nice series win! Like a sweep but they got Buehler going tomorrow. We’ll see!
Also I hate the 645 starts. Less Cardinal baseball for me to walk in the house and watch. Might have to start going in 30 min earlier. lol
April 10, 2019 at 10:19 pm #86877Brewers and cubbies both find themselves on the short end of 4-1 ballgames as the Crew bat in the 4th and the Pirates in the 6th. Hard to believe that we’re already nipping at Milwaukee’s heels, as it seemed as if we were like 10 games back just a few days ago.
April 11, 2019 at 12:24 am #86879Another nice win, and hope for another one tomorrow.
April 11, 2019 at 6:09 am #86881Really enjoying this series as I was one of the doubters when the hot shots from LA came into town. Refresh my memory please. Did we not sweep LA in Chavez Ravine either last year or the year before. I know they did us in at Busch last year.
Very happy to have found TCN and appreciate people actually responding to my comments on the parking situation in Springfield. I posted on the minor league thread but there is an update of sorts on that topic. Link at: https://tinyurl.com/yxwepm8cApril 11, 2019 at 6:21 am #86883Indeed, Minuteman3. We swept them 3 straight in LA last year. No wonder they were fighting mad when they came into town in the waning days of the regular season slate last year. Well, our boys could be in 1st place by days end. Both Milwaukee and the flubs lost last night. Schwarber is right where he should be at with his .225 batting average after wearing the 0-4 collar with 4 whiffs…..sweet!
April 11, 2019 at 7:00 am #86884Sweet win!! Now beat Bueller!!
April 11, 2019 at 7:01 am #86885Thanks for the welcome, folks! I’m gonna try to come by at least time to time. I’ve lost too much track of the kids on the farm–I need not just your company but your stories about the prospects.
I’m seeing lots of reasons to be encouraged about this team. Yadi and Ozuna starting to hit; Gant and Brebbia giving the bullpen some depth; Hicks looking like he might be ready to close….This could be fun.

ParticipantGreat win. I always feel more confident with Black Jack on the mound. Ozuna, DeJong and Molina did the damage and its a good thing because Goldschmidt and Bader are dragging right now. Wacha tonight… an opportunity for him to keep us in the game and the Dodgers off the board.
After the Friday off-day two games @CIN south of the Rio Grande. Warning: don’t drink the water, stick with Coronas. I wonder if Wainwright has ever been that far south. An enchilada con tasajo will perk him up.
ps…. who’s going to need an interpreter now?
April 11, 2019 at 7:33 am #86895I dont mean to be a picky complainer but how can you not double switch with also having O’Neill replace Fowler in the 9th? (Leone for Fowler, O’Neill for the pitcher spot). To me that is not even complaining. It is just a sound logical baseball move. Can anyone defend not doing it?

ParticipantMaybe Schildt is afraid to take Dexy out of a game.

I am proud to announce that both Saturday and Sunday games in Mehico will be PBP’d in 100% Espanol, as a tribute to all of our friends who reside south of the border.

ParticipantI was talking about the players who do not speak Spanish. Dining out may be troublesome for some.
April 11, 2019 at 10:59 am #86932Nyquis, I doubt very much the players are allowed to go out other than in escorted groups. And escorted would include an interpreter as well as armed escorts. Resturaunts are most likely pre chosen and already cater to an international clientel. Anything different would shock me.
April 11, 2019 at 6:55 pm #86988Could you imagine if a guy like the late Billy Martin’s team played a series in Mexico City. I guarantee you that Billy would not have allowed any armed escorts to follow him around. Billy would have been out on the town until the wee hours and the potential for mayhem would have been a distinct possibility. Just the thought conjures up the once unthinkable image of actually feeling sorry for the cartels in the area.
