Ohhhhh I think that leadoff Astro beat that throw to 1st……not that it really matters with the score beingwhat it is, but I’d love to see the replay just for the heck of it.

Every blue moon I get lucky, thanks Jnevel.

We missed a couple good Pugs re-caps when we put up a pair of three’s.

Yeah would have loved to have seen that, especially since I didn’t exactly bring my A game to the pickleball court tonight. I got totally schooled…..I just didn’t have it tonight. I could have used a good pitching pickleball coach to come yank me off the court after the very first game to take me out of my misery, JJ.

It’s never easy but I’m reasonably comfortable with an 8-0 lead in the 8th. Anyone recall that game in ’07 against the Pirates? I think the Cardinals held a 9 run lead in the late innings of the game and couldn’t make it hold up for the W.

Houston threatening to score here in the 9th with runners on the corners with just 1 down. I’d love to keep the shutout intact.

Chip: “Cards could get their 3rd straight shut out today”. Munoz proceeds to give up a 3 run bomb

Ouch! Jeremy Pena with a 3 run bomb to center.

8-3 your merry final…..hey Rat we just missed on our 6-3 Cardinal predictions…..we’ll get it right next time.

We gotta winning streak going. Now the boys need to figure out how to win on the road.

Cardinals climb to .500 and can now work on establishing themselves as a winning baseball team. Donovan’s 4 for 4 is nice to see, but I think the 3 for 4, 2 RBI game from Arenado is perhaps the most encouraging offensive display from tonight’s game. It’s my view that he and Contreras are going to have to be the proverbial teeth of the batting order for this team to consistently produce runs.

Yeah, Euro, it almost always seems that the genuine nature of a baseball team is revealed when they’re dining on hotel food.

Ha, Pugs needs a low pickle-pitch count. I’ve played only once, with a neighbor about a year ago. Have played a fair amount of tennis over the years, and everything seemed like a changeup to me in pickleball. Maybe that’s common if you’ve played tennis and you’d adjust to that in a hurry, I don’t know.

    Nice to be .500 again.

One observation on Gorman. He has shortened his swing a tad. He looked bad on the K but looked like a guy who manufactured a run on the sac fly. Old habits die hard but it appears there’s been a change in his approach a bit. It’s early! We shall see.

Stands to reason. The gate will continue to swing in precise proportion to the team’s fortunes. Just like always.

Cardinals are on pace to draw a little over 2.3 million this year, down about 500,000 from last year.

And the W/L pct. will dictate how the pace will change over the course of 162 games. If they tank and are relegated to insignificant status by early to mid June, my guess is that it would be entirely possibly for that so called pace to fall to somewhere closer to or even below 2M. I’ve attended more games than I can count in which I was one of less than 10K fans occupying a seat.

So far the Cardinal MVP has been Brant Brown. Nice hire by Mo/Bloom.
