If Rat’s new digs is gonna be “Fiddlers On The Roof”, something needs to be going on, on the roof! Fiddlers or even a band stand and dance floor?
By golly I think you’re on to something, Wooster. Ummmm dancing coupled with a real life musical fiddler. My initial plan was to have a classical fiddler playing nice soft music while diners enjoyed their catfish fiddlers at “Fiddlers On the Roof”. But now Wooster has me rethinking this……maybe we’ll go with a fast rowdy fiddler like that young fellow at the start of that Burt Reynolds movie “Deliverance”….with people stomping their feet and dancing like crazy on the dance floor. Thanks Wooster!

I just checked the Big League leaders for BA and saw that with about 45 games left to play there are 7 players who have so far managed to maintain an average of .300 or above. In 1980 there were 48 players who ended the season with a .300 or above batting average. That’s astounding. George Brett led all hitters for that ’80 season at a .390 clip.
Pete Crow-Armstrong being pinch hit for. That may really mess him up more, but what does he expect with a .193 BA vs lefties.
I’m thinking the .300 hitter may soon be a thing of the distant past. Rat won’t like it, but somewhere around .275 may soon become the new benchmark for the best pure hitters in the Big Leagues.
I couldn’t hardly hardly believe it when I saw that 48 hitters ended the ’80 season at .300 or above, Pugs. And that’s a big Redbird W!

Not only are they six games out but now they head to Toronto. Things aren’t looking good in Wrigleyville at the moment.
Man beating the Cubs never gets old. Good job guys. The 9th was a little shaky but Jo Jo gets the job done. I like it.
The Cubs are going to make the playoffs but their chances of winning the NLC are fading fast. Such a shame.
The WC races are really beginning be a crowded affair. Looks like almost every team in each league is in contention for a participation trophy or at least an ice cream or a snow cone after the game…Oh well, that seems to be what the bosses wanted.
Thoroughly enjoyable game to watch. It’s amazing what a difference it makes when a player like Gray is really feeling it.
