I disagree Pugs. While I think he’s fast enough to leg out enough hits to still be effective, I really want him to learn to hit better. He was not much above a league average hitter at AA last year even with his legs. He needs a whole season of work. This would only be his second full minor league season.
I hear you Jnevel. That has been my thinking too until just the other day. I think he’s starting to settle in nicely now. We’ll know more very soon.
Boy is Siani ever nifty with the leather……very tough catch to make….he just saved us from a potentially crushing inning …..just 2-1 Pads heading to the 5th.
It’s nice to have some great leather on the field. That to me was the biggest debacle last year. It ruined our starting pitchers and put lots of extra innings and stress on the pen ruining them too.
Sounds as if the San Diego faithful had a little bit of the Wave going on…..talk about Lame with a capital “L”! I once told my ex-wifey at a Brewer game, in the midst of a Wave, to shoot me right between the eyes if I ever were to participate in a Wave.
Time to start roughing up Mr. Darvish. He’s had several pitches tonight that were just waiting to get whacked.
Nice PA from Donovan to draw the BB. Have to make Darvish work a little harder than 58 pitches through 6.
I was thinking as Contreras came to bat that only 4 of our guys look competitive as hitters tonight – Donnie, Arenado, Winn, and Contreras. Way to go Wilson.
Didn’t take long for Oli’s move of Contreras to the #3 hole to start paying dividends. Oh oh, pitching coach out to visit Darvish……don’t take him out!
