Yessir, Siani is precisely 11 games better than any Cardinal castoff.

I’d still like to know if Siani’s roll on this roster is that of a 5th OF’er?

First time thru the rotation the starters logged one Quality Start and a GmScA of 48 (w/50 as the starting of each starter).

Three up and three down, in the first inning, in 4 of our 6 games now.

The bad news: Whirling Darvish sets us down 1-2-3 in the 1st.

The good news: Whirling Darvish looks very hitable this evening…..we should get to him.

Some other scrumptious din-dins tonight compliments of TD and BicycleMike. There’s been many occasions over the years where I’ve seen what one of our posters had for din-din that night and then I would copy it and serve it up myself the very next night.

    Carter in the house tonight….
    how sweet is that!

Siani’s role is threefold: backup center fielder to Scott, pinch runner, and late game replacement outfielder. It actually works quite well which is why I pined for him to make the team . . . before Matt Carpenter and before Brandon Crawford.

FYI – Fangraphs has Kyle Gibson at -.1 FWAR for last night’s start. They weren’t impressed at all given the hard exit velocities and his ultra low batting average on balls in play.

And a LF’er who robs Bogaerts of a base hit…Nice mitt!

Siani brings defensive impact. Lets see if he can hit.

Hard to believe Darvish will be 38 before this season ends.

JJ – he can’t. He’s a pretty terrible hitter. But he does take a lot of walks.

Does Winn ever boot a ball?

Squeezing him doesn’t help our cause.

Pads hit us with a tally in the 2nd. Could the 3rd inning be our inning?

Victor with a leadoff double……I think Victor is faster than Vince…..as in Coleman in his prime.

Gee did Winn ever smoke that ball to left…..but unfortunately in the vicinity of the outfielder. We’re getting good wood on the ball….hopefully they’ll start falling in.

Get one to tie matters up at 1-1.

Way to manufacture a run there off Darvish. The inning comes to a close with a thud as Goldy takes a couple of hittable pitches and then swings at a corner pitch to end the frame.

Looking forward to a big inning here . . .

I want to know that Miles can get “settled in”, instead of an adventure each inning

After limited observation, I really think sending Scott back down after getting Lars, Carlson and Edman back, is going to do him more harm than good. He’s where he belongs now.

My “big inning” lasted 5 whole pitches.
