This might be a tough one with Yu pitching. It sure would be nice to leave the West Coast with a 3-4 record instead of 2-5. But if it is indeed 2-5 that’s about what I expected when I saw the schedule come out last year.

Din-din today is a trip down to the German restaurant in Jasper, the Schnitzlebank. Me and three other retirees from the naval base are meeting down there for dinner. I think I will have the Weinerschnitzel, German Fries, Green Beans, a Coke, and not sure about dessert. Maybe a piece of Cherry Cheesecake.

Then later tonight me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for the middle game. Along with a couple of 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigars.

Other than the stellar 2018 campaign, the Miler just never has been real good. He keeps the ball around the plate for the most part, but seems to make the wrong pitch at the wrong time and gets beat.

If he were a 3 or 4 starter he would be a good fit. But as a 1 or 2, well that just says your starters are not very inspiring.

His primary attribute with the Cardinals has been the number of IP’ed. Other than that, he’s a .500 SP’er who impresses me as a sort of Jake Westbrook Lite.

Mikolas might actually be our #5….

Mikolas made a lot of people look bad with the off speed pitch that he would bury at the feet of lefty hitters that first year. I don’t know if he just doesn’t have the same break or if the league has him fully scouted now but he is not getting that kind of success now and it has brought down his whole profile some.

Like the lineup with Contreras 3rd, Burly and Walker 5th and 6th.

Is Siani’s role on this team that of a 5th OF’er?

And lots of speed 7 through 9.

Great call on Contreras to the 3spot BB. Oli clumped up 3 righties and 2 lefties.

May as well go on a win streak.

I’d have to say it’s a disadvantage when the only RH’ed bat on the bench is a catcher.

That’s the original bench handedness too, before all the injuries.

Well, Carlson as a righty helps some.

Sounds like a feast and a good time, Rat. We will be having pasta with my home made vodka sauce.

Siani is just about an automatic out. The Reds let him go. That should tell you something.

Ollie noticed Siani was also on the team tonight so he’s putting him in. “Oh, hey there Mike. I didn’t realize you were actually here at the start of the games too. I just thought you showed up at the ballpark after the seventh inning.”

Maybe someone should tell him we’ve got a guy named Fernandez out in the bullpen too.

I would move Winn into the 2 spot and slide everyone else down.

Now you’re talking my language, Blingster. Sounds simply devine. I may have to do a Victor Scott and steal that recipe from you…..but may give it a go with a Wild Turkey sauce instead of vodka. Rat’s weinersnitzel din-din sounds enticing too. My din-din tonight consisted of pork chops, Bush baked beans drenched in apple cider vinegar, potato salad heavy on the egg and onion and 3 Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies.

We need to win this game tonight and then complete the sweep tomorrow, giving us a winning road trip to get the ball rolling in 2024. The fact is we are better than these guys. A win is a win, but I want to see a display of total dominance out there this evening. We beat them by 4 last night…….let’s trounce them tonight by 5 runs or better.

We had some seasoned baked chicken, Spanish rice and peas for din-din. Might indulge in a little chocolate cake for dessert. We don’t have dessert much around here, but yesterday was my wife’a birthday, and I ain’t fooling, so we have a wedge of chocalate cake with creamy chocolate frosting to finish off in the next couple of days.

Want to see Mikolas actually pitch a good game. Would love to see another performance like Gibson gave us last night, or like Gibson used to give us some 55-56 years ago.

Well Pugsley: You have too much knowledge of the Cards to think we will win after a game where we get a ton of hits! I put the over/under at 4 hits tonite

Leftovers from Easter called for ham and smoked gouda on rye with horseradish, cool ranch flavored Doritos with an ice cold Coca Cola. Edy’s chocolate ice cream for dessert. Nuthin’ fancy, but pretty good.

Did you forget that the Reds won 11 more games than the Cardinals last season?
