Reds in full tank mode now
March 14, 2022 at 5:05 pm #180728Winker and Suarez to the Mariners for youth. Full tank mode indeed.
March 14, 2022 at 5:16 pm #180730Sure glad the new CBA fixed the problem…. 🙁
March 14, 2022 at 5:27 pm #180731Reds offseason:
Lose Wade Miley on waivers, save $10M
Trade Sonny Gray to Twins for two prospects, save $10M
Trade Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suárez to Mariners for four young players, save about $40M https://t.co/DJrfZ3zD51

March 14, 2022 at 7:01 pm #180733I think the Pirates are now the favorites in the quest for getting out of the cellar.
March 15, 2022 at 12:14 pm #180765One of the highest paid Reds in 2022? Ken Griffey Jr. https://t.co/FzjP9u75rl

March 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm #180767they were so much closer than they were farther away, shame as their fans are good and deserve to see a winner
if they are selling though…I don’t care about the played out “intra-division deals won’t happen” excuse…call em up and ask about Castillo…see what their price is…
I am very surprised they let Winker go, he seemed a very good new core piece
They have some nice young pitchers and hitters coming, so they may be fun to watch just for that
Still better than Pirates
Who by the way I’d call about Reynolds
I am still of the opinion we need a bat, some kind of dependable bat i don’t even care what side of the plate
April 12, 2022 at 1:50 pm #182291The Reds owner’s son seems intent on making a lot of friends in Cincinnati.
Phil Castellini on upset #Reds fans: "Where you gonna go? Let's start there. Sell the team to who? … What would you do with this team to have it be more profitable? … It would be to pick it up and move it somewhere else. So, be careful what you ask for."
Are you kidding me?? https://t.co/bszK8LMa0w

April 12, 2022 at 1:51 pm #182292“How about everybody just settle down and celebrate and cheer for the team” hours after “actually we get to be cheap or the team is going to get moved” is definitely the attitude you want. https://t.co/72YnbgkC93

April 12, 2022 at 2:35 pm #182295Tone deaf arrogance.
April 12, 2022 at 6:45 pm #182312Indeed. If I’m his father, I don’t think I would allow that nob to get anywhere close to a camera or microphone.

April 13, 2022 at 6:53 pm #182423Man, what a dumb a**. Sad to see that an organization steeped in tradition and success has a pompous ass for an owner.
How about working to build a world class organization – let’s start their Mr. Owner. Obviously you should not have bought a sports franchise with the attitude you exhibit. Johnny Bench must be ashamed at what has happened to this once proud and respected club.
September 22, 2022 at 7:16 am #201852This is so awesome.
Joey Votto (out for the season) is walking around the stands at the @Reds game. He’s hanging with fans, taking selfies, signing autographs, and sitting with kids to watch with them. pic.twitter.com/vhSjg40wyB

November 27, 2022 at 2:08 pm #207671If I remember correctly, Aquino started his career with a loud bang. I thought the Reds had a superstar in the making. It just never developed. Hope he works things out in Japan.
December 22, 2022 at 1:38 pm #209721The Reds announced Mike Moustakas, owed $22 million, was designated for assignment. Curt Casali is returning to the Reds on a one-year contract with a mutual option for 2024. https://t.co/hj2ehD7yRy

December 22, 2022 at 3:29 pm #209727Dodgers will probably pick him up, put him on the Malibu Wheatgrass And Beetle Diet, and get a 4-WAR season out of the fatso.
Good for the Reds, though. If you don’t think the player can help you win, just get rid of him. The money, as the cool kids say, is a sunk cost. Don’t compound your mistake by making the club worse.
December 23, 2022 at 9:46 am #209771The Reds DFA one washed up veteran so they can pay him to play for someone else then turn around and sign another washed up veteran so they can pay him too. Interesting.

jj-cf-stlParticipantDrury, Pham and now Myers. Reds hoping for good deadline value.
December 23, 2022 at 12:21 pm #209784I can remember the talk back when The Reds signed Moustakas. He had come off 3 pretty decent years. Hit some home runs and K rate below 20%. Defense nothing to write home about, but he provided some homers. a 2 WAR player. All Star. But on the other hand, the teams he had been on always were ready to move on exercising the buy out a couple times. The Reds sign him and the covid year happens. He did OK, but that was it, he stunk after that. I can’t decide if it was a bad signing or bad luck.
February 9, 2023 at 7:11 am #212345According to this, the Reds team is worth “only” $1.19 billion!

November 30, 2023 at 8:21 am #238608I like Martinez’ upside.
Source confirms #Reds' two-year, $26 million deal with reliever/swingman Nick Martinez, pending physical. Also agreed to two-year, $16 million deal with reliever Emilio Pagan. Both deals include opt-outs after first year.

jj-cf-stlParticipantBoth were outstanding vs RHB’s last season.
November 30, 2023 at 12:40 pm #238627Agree Brian. I was hoping Nick would end up in St Louis.
