This is really interesting as the Reds seemed to have an overabundance of infielders already.

They have to be lining up for a trade. I can’t imagine putting a guy like Elly De La Cruz in the outfield. Even then, they’d have an extra infielder.

CES, McLain, De La Cruz, Candelario, India, Marte

They really have a full outfield too with Fraley, Benson, Steer, and Friedl – with Steer really being an infielder.

A lot of good options for trades imo. Unlike our MI glut, they also have a lot of options on the farm to pull from in a year or two, if any of these guys falter in Edwin Arroyo, Cam Collier, and Sal Stewart.

I do like Nick Martinez for them. I would have preferred him to one of Lynn or Gibson. Same with his counterpart in San Diego, Seth Lugo.

One would think India is going to be dealt. The ChiSox would be a logical landing spot……you better cease dragging your feet and beat Cincy to the punch, Mo!

even with a trade (unless it is like 3 major players) this seems a weird maneuver

they barely spend money as it is and they decide JC is worth the 15mil?

I loved the Nick Ramirez and Emilio Pagan signs earlier…two guys i thought would have been great for Cards

This is just weird…even if they are making a trade…for what? Cease? that seems middling at best
Glasnow? really with his injury history?

India being traded is a mistake which he seems to be the one on the block…he is almost the closest thing they have to a veteran leader now

I wouldn’t classify Cease as middling. The trade interest in him is going to be fierce.

SEA young controlled pitching for CIN young position players looks good for both.

I would say the Reds will definitely go after Marmol once he is let go.

    Either him or David Ross.

They’ll lure Dusty out of retirement with a lucrative 5 year deal.

Showalter or Matheny, maybe. (Why would anyone want Marmol?)

The Reds and Cards might get in a bidding war for Skip.

I thought Skippy made a mistake and sold himself short by taking on the first offer he received from the Marlins. I hope he doesn’t make the same mistake with the Reds.

Maybe the Reds will hire Barry Larkin as their new manager. The one good thing about that would be that it would get him out of the broadcast booth. Him and Sadak are terrible.

Pete Rose…….Dead At Age 83. Maybe now he’ll be inducted.

Yes, he received a “lifetime” ban.

Now they can induct him posthumously.

Sorry to hear that about Pete. Regardless of his scandals he was one of my favorite non-Cardinal players to watch growing up.

I understood a little bit as I grew older, but when I was still a young boy I recall many times attending games at Busch Memorial Stadium when the “BFIB” would relentlessly boo the great Pete Rose. And for the life of me I couldn’t understand how they could be so stupid as to boo an all time great baseball player. I knew that the silly boos would only make him mad…

Reds hire Terry Francona. Just saw it on MLB TV. Kind of surprising to me. I guess we can take Francona off our list should Marmol get the old heave-ho.

Do we turn out attention now to Maddon? If we need a new manager, that is.

I don’t see Franconia coaching for a lot of years. He’s been in bad health and I think that will be a problem again in 2-3 years

That’s a big time hire for the Reds. Wow I did not see that coming!

Rat, the Cardinals have already said that Marmol will be manager in 2025. It will be interesting to see where Schumaker ends up now.

If Suarez can slug 40+ homeruns at Riverfront next year does this signing make them the odds on favorite for the NL Central?

They potentially have a really good starting rotation. And with the loss of Tucker by the Cubs……..

Not to let the cat out of the bag early(before we make our yearly predictions), but I have the Reds finishing a full 7 games behind the cubbies in 2026, Rat. P S. I hope Whitey HerDog is turning somersaults for you. How’s she doing?
