jj-cf-stlParticipantIf the suspension had been for last season, would Cano still have to sit out another 102 games?
Edit- Is it possible he still owes games in 2022?

stlcard25ParticipantThe suspension was for 162 games, so I would assume if this season is less than a full 162, he would owe games. As it stands now, I don’t imagine it will be many games, probably 20ish at most.

jj-cf-stlParticipantThat’s how I was looking at it too, that suspensions go by team games played.
January 9, 2021 at 5:29 pm #151410As we all know “serious trade talks “ can mean different things to different people but it would be interesting if he is being shopped.
Edit: I see this was already posted on the Trade Ideas thread.

January 9, 2021 at 6:26 pm #151413Yeah, I posted it on the trade thread, because to be honest, I remain confused about what this thread is supposed to cover that the ongoing one we always have stuck to the top does not.
January 10, 2021 at 11:31 am #151452I agree this thread probably wasn’t necessary. I think some posters forget to look at the threads that are pinned.

ParticipantScotty and BW – This thread was to be about deals that actually go down this off season (by trade of by FA signings). For two reasons –
1.) To see which players are gone as far as possibilities.
2.) To look at the compensation received to compare with players that are still on the market. It wasn’t meant to deal with trade ideas/acquisitions ideas/non-cards rumors…….just actual happenings to be analyzed.
January 11, 2021 at 6:46 pm #151545I was shocked to hear that the Cardinals may be interested in signing DJ LeMahieu. I heard a report on MLB radio and then read an article on MLB Trade Runors. This sounds like an agent trying to create a perception to generate more activity from teams actually interested in DJ. Anyone see it differently?
January 11, 2021 at 7:08 pm #151548Check out the LeMahieu discussion on the Trade Rumors thread. The Cardinals were just apparently checking in. Nothing of substance to it that anyone can tell.

stlcard25ParticipantLiam Hendriks signs with Chicago 4 years, $54M.
Here’s how Hendriks deal with White Sox works, per sources: He is guaranteed $54M. Buyout worth same as option. So, he gets $39M for first three years, then an additional $15M over a period of time if White Sox decline option. If White Sox pick up option, it’s four years, $54M.

January 18, 2021 at 10:07 pm #152076Just when you thought the Mets were turning things around. Classic LOLMets moment.
New York Mets general manager Jared Porter sent explicit photos, including a naked picture of a penis, to a foreign female reporter in 2016 after she had ignored dozens of other messages from him for weeks.

January 19, 2021 at 8:22 am #152094It appears he has been fired. Steve Cohen is quickly becoming my favorite MLB owner.
We have terminated Jared Porter this morning . In my initial press conference I spoke about the importance of integrity and I meant it.There should be zero tolerance for this type of behavior.

January 19, 2021 at 9:10 am #152104I wonder if Girsch will be on the Mets radar? It might seem like a lateral move but Sandy Alderson won’t be there forever.

January 19, 2021 at 11:52 am #152112Too much impatience, IMO. This is only the 19th day of the new December… 😉
January 19, 2021 at 12:55 pm #152116March is the new December.
January 19, 2021 at 2:31 pm #152122In fact, I tweeted those very words recently… Great minds…
