Needs a bit more hair too. I would love to see the reverse side of that coin. Any ideas on what it is?
September 26, 2019 at 8:04 pm #108690Team effort.
Cubs going for the Triple Crown of bad in the NL:

stlcard25ParticipantFwiw, that’s actually a photo of Mo on the coin. I couldn’t find a good photo of him in a bow tie to use. Ha.
Also Brian, I wouldn’t mind if the Cubs end up leading the league in blowing saves, so long as the Cards get the wins after the Cubs blow the saves.
September 26, 2019 at 10:24 pm #108695My newfound appreciation of Mo? Let’s not go that far…lol
September 26, 2019 at 10:34 pm #108697stlcard25, you have some impressive graphics skills.
September 26, 2019 at 10:44 pm #108698Joe is spicy in the Tribune:
The Brewers might be a tad miffed, however, by the Cubs’ lineups in those final three games.
That hardly bothers Cubs manager Joe Maddon, who announced Thursday that pitchers Yu Darvish and Kyle Hendricks will be shut down for the rest of the season, as well as perhaps Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist and Jason Heyward.
“I will put out the appropriate guys to play based on what’s good for our people, not for their people,” said Maddon, who already has ruled out All-Stars Kris Bryant and Javier Baez because of injuries.
“We’ll put a good team out there, regardless. Now, of course, (the Brewers are) going to bitch. Of course they are. I get it. Quite frankly, there are certain things I don’t give a (expletive) about.
“That would be one of them.”
September 26, 2019 at 11:20 pm #108702I would imagine Kimbrel won’t throw another pitch this season.

Thanks for the quotes from Maddon. Sounds like we will be playing the best of the rest.
September 27, 2019 at 7:52 am #1087181. I don’t trust Maddon but he did play without the bashers in last nights Pirates game.
2. I am NOT a stats fan but in looking at the standings on MLB this morning one stat stood out. It was the Runs Scored vs Runs Against differential. The Cardinals are PLUS 101 runs and the Cubs are Plus 9 runs. Am I wrong in saying that indicates lousy pitching? Or is it lousy hitting? Or a combination of both.
Edit: On second thought, I think that Maddon may be sending a message not to the Brewers but to Theo Epstein. I think he has gotten his walking papers and is telling Theo, “These games are for you big guy.”

If you like a site that tells the world when you had your last bowel movement then Google is truly your friend. But I know what you mean. Sometimes you have no choice.
September 27, 2019 at 8:14 am #108728I remember at the time of the 2014 draft that there was talk that the Cubs were anticipating that Jack Flaherty, a high school kid in Los Angeles, would still be available to them with the 45th pick in the draft. The Cardinals drafted Flaherty with the 34th pick in the draft, and the Cubs drafted Jake Stinnett with the 45th pick. Stinnett has not yet made it up to the Cubs AAA affiliate.

I have tried countless times to post images on here but just can’t get it to work. I know the steps.
Find the image, open image in new tab, copy image address, paste image address into the image tab, etc… but no success

I think you are correct. Joe is giving Theo the middle finger as he walks out the door.

September 27, 2019 at 9:15 am #108737The performance of the Brewers the last two September’s has been remarkable. You talk about a team with a nose for the finish line? Holy Cow. Last year they did it by riding the coattails of their MVP. To do without him this year is simply amazing.
Let’s hope it is a wildcard finish this time.

This is what I get when I try to post an image. Not sure why.

I’ve tried before and had it not work, too. For the Mo coin, I just used their HTML copy option because the method you described didn’t work.

gscottar, I grabbed the link of the image you tried to post. The above is what appears – nothing. So I then pasted your link in its own browser window and got the message:
This site can’t be reached
https’s server IP address could not be found. In other words, your link is bad – because there are two “http’s” on the front. Just one http, then colon, then slash-slash and the link, NOT this.

Here, I took off the extra https//, the second one, and the image appears. So if your image does not show, immediately edit your post and clean up the URL.
September 27, 2019 at 10:46 am #108746I should earn myself some extra coin by teaching a weekly “How To Successfully Post A Link……And Enjoy Doing It” class. I figure a pristine Bob Gibson rookie card might suffice as payment. Any takers?
September 27, 2019 at 11:08 am #108749Here is how I do it:
Rather than copy image address, I right click on image or video and then click on ‘copy image to url’ (or something like that. Then paste the copy to the board. Let’s see if it works.
September 27, 2019 at 11:56 am #108764No offense, Minuteman3, but you need to be first in line and front and center for my weekly class. You’re a good Joe, so instead of my usual fee ( Bob Gibson rookie card ), I’ll let you slide for a Joe McGrane rookie card.
September 27, 2019 at 12:16 pm #108766Pugs, But but but I have successfully demonstrated my ability to post video media yet all I see from you is talk, talk, talk. I will accept your Bob Gibson rookie card as a reward from my demonstration of old folks computer prowess. STLCard25 is looking for his Luke Gregerson card to send you as payment……LOL
