Indeed, thank you for the great work you do year round but especially during this crazy time. Let’s hope there is something positive to report on eventually. We could all use it.
Bad thing came on at 4pm today. Temp of 104, hard time breathing even with oxygen, shivering badly. got the shivering stopped and piled on some blankets until I had to remove some. I think the breathing is a little bit better but the temp is still 104. Trying to decide whether to call for an ambulance. Wife has been all the same places I have but is not showing any problems. We did do pickups at Walmart, Petsmart and Popeyes but I wore mask and gloves at each stop and wiped down all the merch with sanitizer rags.
As I write this I am starting to feel better but the oxygen going at 5 liters p/m which is heavy. Wish me luck.
Thanks booyah. I am feeling a bit better now but if I get some sleep tonight I am calling my doc in the morning and getting the test done. I have been in the hospital 4 times in the past 4 years for pretty much the same thing and it turned out to be mild pneumonia and the beginning of sepsis which is also a killer. Pretty sure I will be in there tomorrow. Thanks again. The wife is packing a bag as she would not be allowed in the hospital now. So if I go downhill in the middle of the night I will be prepared for an ambulance ride.
MM3, good luck. You might want to take 858’s line of thought. Call before you go though to see what they say. With the precautions you’ve taken, it’s probably not covid, but definitely should call your primary care.
From the charts I’ve seen, the median time from infection to symptoms is 5 days, and by 12 days over 95% will have symptoms. Probably would help to trace back over the last 12 days before calling your primary care.
MM3, I am praying for you. Those are scary symptoms. Hope that it’s not what we all fear in these days.
I have had these symptoms before and,right now, I am just feeling tired which is a good sign as before I could never sleep. My ace in the hole is my wife is here and she will pull the plug if necessary. Will post again the the am.

Great news. Slept through the night and feel absolutely normal (which for others is not normal) this morning. I may go to my doc’s walk in this morning but I hate to get anywhere near clinics nowadays. That’s where the bad stuff hangs out.
I learned something though. When I have had these same symptoms before they have put me in the hospital at night and the next day and all days after I felt great but I was stuck in a hospital until they had stuck me with 100 needles and numerous drips. Three days later I was sent home feeling as good as I did the first full day in the hospital.
But this virus thing is a real eye opener for us old farts. I did actually check my will last night before I went to bed. But I think I knew it was the old bugaboo returning when my cough was very productive as opposed to nonproductive.
Enough of boring you nice folks with my medicals. Today will be a great day and it should be interesting to see how baseball will react to the varied ‘reopenings.’But this virus thing is a real eye opener for us old farts. BTW: Read in today’s local rag that emergency room visits at the two Springfield hospitals are down 50%. They think people are scared to come to a hospital……………I know they are right.

I started reading this topic from last night. You scared the hell out of me. Couldn’t wait to get updates and very happy to hear that you are feeling a lot better. I get that you don’t want any exposure at a Dr’s office and the hospital. I would feel the same damn way.

Thanks 14NyquisT. I really feel for you as I recall you are in the super hot zone in NY. NY seems to dominate the news and it is all scary stories. Stay safe for sure. Would be interested to know how all of our TCN buddies are doing. I was putting put prayers for our house at first. Now I have expanded it to the whole world. I had posted more to this input but deleted it when I realized that it could be seen as political. It was only about China.

On the āResumption of ā¦.ā thread, Brian and mudville were discussing sunlight and UV rays possibly killing SARS-CoV-2. I had just read an article on this subject and am linking it in this thread because itās a better fit here. The article talks about recent lab tests giving preliminary results that sunlight destroys the virus quickly. The work is being done by the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center, which is part of the Dept of Homeland Security.
One thing we know for sure about COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2 is thereās a lot we donāt know about either.

This is related to team staffers. The Cardinals have not yet made any announcement beyond April that I am aware of. (For the Cardinals, “baseball operations” are those who report to Mozeliak. The business side reports to DeWitt III, the “other” team president.)

However… Manfred made a move allowing teams (if they choose) to cut pay or lay off coaches, scouts, trainers, etc. at MLB and minors levels starting May 1. So, yesterday’s announcement of another month could be it.

Here’s an idea that will send some readers here to try to figure out how this could pan out. Five teams each from the Florida teams and the Cactus League teams. There are several college ballparks in the Dallas and Houston areas that could be viable sites, plus the two MLB stadiums. So which teams get moved to the “Lone-star League”? Were they would play? Texas is in the CDT zone which could help TV coverage.

I don’t care much for the imbalance of teams in the leagues. IMO, 10-10-10 teams 6 divisions, wild cards and play-ins should be ideal. Let MLB figure out the logistics.
