CardsFan64 – I think if we have ties in this round that take us a little beyond 15, then we just expand our Best of the Rest list to a little over 15. So we may end up having a few extra which is fine at this point.

I’m curious to see how we do. Last year we did reasonably well along with a couple huge misses (Scott at 39, L Baker at 40, and C Thomas at 17 seem like the worst offenses). We will always miss on some prospects due to unforeseen injuries. But sometimes we just miss in general. Personally, my gut says we were better this year than last year.

Jnevel – I tend to agree. There will always be surprises and injuries during the year, but the group did pretty well. The bigger unknowns to me are the 2023 draftees that either didn’t play at all or very briefly. While my personal picks varied a bit after the top ten or so, most were pretty close to what the overall group decided. It will interesting to see where the TCN top 20 fill in. We certainly had some different opinions as far as rankings on several players so far in the bottom half of the rankings.

I plan to post the final “Best of the Rest” tonight. I have kept track of all the picks so far and add to them whenever someone else chimes in. I have over 40 players on the list right now, with several only receiving one vote, so those will be easy to eliminate. I have 18 names if no tie-breaker is used at this point.

As I typed the last letter “e” in “Odle”, I could not help but notice a few tears misting, as our yearly Top 50 Prospect thread draws to it’s conclusion. Many thanks to our two esteemed sheriffs( Mr. J. Nevel & cardsfan64 ), whom conducted this marvelous thread with tact, finese, order, punctuality and class. And I would be terribly remiss if not recognizing the fantastic participation put on display by Cardinal Nation posters. Merry Christmas to all and the first pitch of Spring Training 2024 will be upon us before we know it.

Pugs – fyi – Kendle isn’t a prospect because he never signed with the Cards when they drafted him. Also, we appreciate the kudos and I definitely appreciate everyone’s efforts this year to share in this process. Enjoy the holidays!

I didn’t stay too close to the proceedings, but that was because I didn’t have to! Good job, everyone.

I missed putting Tanner Javobson in my group. He has a very good K rate.

Not a fair comparison Brian. Teams release prospects ranked in the 30’s and 40’all the time based on organizational needs. And that is where I am talking about O’Brien probably should be ranked.

If he pans out, let it be remembered that I had O’Brien in my top 50. At #50.

This the Community’s TOP-50. I’m putting it here for convenience. You’ll be seeing a lot of these names popping up in the Spring games, especially in the earlier part of the scheduled games.
