ParticipantIt would be best if it stayed close so neither team could set up their rotations.

No doubt. Just one off-day after the regular season. It’s nice the Brewers have wiggled their way back into it somewhat.
September 27, 2022 at 1:29 pm #202530Wheeler and Nola have arguably been better, and the Phillies actually have an offense. I don’t think either are a great matchup for us. I’d probably pick San Diego if I had to choose the team to play, especially in St Louis.
I just wouldn’t want to give the Brewers another shot at us after we win the division. Something about that just doesn’t feel right. I would rather take my chances with the Phillies.
September 28, 2022 at 3:45 pm #202716The Brewers rotation just got weaker. After leaving Tuesday’s game, Houser went onto the IL today.
Likely IL placement for Adrian Houser, says Craig Counsell.

jj-cf-stlParticipantPhilly loses their second straight to the CHC, and now have four losses in a row. Maybe they can’t play .500 ball down the stretch.
MIL beating StL puts them a half game behind PHI with the more favorable schedule.
September 29, 2022 at 11:59 am #202806I would rather face the Phillies instead of the Brewers.
September 29, 2022 at 12:29 pm #202809Amen to that gscottar. Burnes and Woodruff could put us out in a hurry. Especially if Goldschmidt and Arenado don’t start hitting the ball. What a time for a slump.
September 29, 2022 at 7:01 pm #202828Cubs sweep the Phils, outscoring them 8-3 in the series. At the moment, the Phils now have identical records with the Brewers, although the Brewers are very early in their game with the Marlins tonight. Not looking good for the Phils with their final 6 games on the road, 3 against the Astros.
September 29, 2022 at 7:05 pm #202829Or it could be what a time for fatigue due to a long season.
Idk Milwaukee could get in. lol
September 29, 2022 at 7:25 pm #202830The Phillies do have the tiebreaker. If they finish tied it’s the Phillies that are in St. Louis for the three game set. Scharber, Harper, Realmuto, Hoskins, and company.
September 29, 2022 at 9:51 pm #202836Brewers were 4 outs away from a 2-0 win. Then a grand slam happened. Marlins won 4-2.
Phils now one better in the loss column.
October 27, 2022 at 9:59 am #205557That Hader trade turned out to be a killer in their clubhouse.
The Mets have been trying to get Stearns for a couple of years. Now they have their shot.

October 27, 2022 at 10:13 am #205558Davis Stearns steps down as Brewers baseball president, stays (for now) in consulting role. Forever a Mets candidate. Interesting development.
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) October 27, 2022
Mets (or any other team) would still by rules need permission of Brewers owner Mark Attanasio to interview David Stearns, as he remains under contract 1 more year. Now that he’s a consultant you’d think permission would be granted, but still up to Attanasio.

November 23, 2022 at 8:35 am #207457Sure looks like a rebuild… or at least clearing salary for someone else…

ParticipantPeguero is the headliner here. Very good numbers at AAA and pitched 13 games in relief for the Brewers in’22 with not so good #s. He’ll likely get a shot at their ’23 rotation. Junk may get a shot in the Brewer’s BP. I couldn’t get much info on Seminaris.
MIL must be headed towards filling Renfoe’s spot outside of the organization because I don’t see much in their system OF-wise.
January 21, 2023 at 3:25 pm #211306A tough competitor…
The Brewers mourn the passing of former third baseman, general manager and 2014 Wall of Honor inductee Sal Bando. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Sal’s family, friends and fans. pic.twitter.com/IyFxLcYhk9

January 21, 2023 at 3:47 pm #211312All these guys from my early teenaged years who are passing on is getting to be more than a bit unsettling. Bando had 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishes in the AL MVP voting in ’71, ’74 and ’73 respectively, and was team captain of the Oakland A’s WS Championship dynasty of ’72 to ’74. He was as clutch as they come with baserunners aboard and was also a very good 3B’man with the glove who was simply overshadowed by a guy who played in Baltimore during that era. At any rate, I’ll always identify Bando as a player who wore white cleats on the left side of the IF and the country.

November 6, 2023 at 12:15 pm #236844Craig Counsell will manage next season, but NOT the Brewers or Mets, sources tell @TheAthletic. He is heading to a team with an existing manager. Mets hiring Carlos Mendoza, per @Joelsherman1 and @JonHeyman

November 6, 2023 at 1:59 pm #236852Marmol is probably min wage, a real bargain. Our whole coaching staff is a real bargain.
November 6, 2023 at 3:04 pm #236857Maybe if you’re counting nickels, but if you’re counting 20 games under and last place in the NLC, this clown certainly ain’t no bargain…

jj-cf-stlParticipantWoodruff, 11.6mil arb3 estimate. What should MIL do?
