That was one heck of a play by the MIL 3B’man Hamilton. He was near to being in deep LF when he squeezed that baseball for the out.
October 4, 2026 at 3:36 pm #320313That “dead ball” rule is a good one too 1TD. Call it either a foul ball, under the thought that the ball went out of play, or a dead ball given that the ball was interfered with and could not achieve its natural landing spot.
On the off day for AL teams, it also gives them an extra rest day for pitchers. Just an odd set up to have a day off after only one game of a best of five.
October 4, 2026 at 3:55 pm #320314Yeah, Bikemike, I say treat it like it never happened. Don’t even penalize the batter with a strike in the event that the roof or any other section of the structure that’s situated out of play interferes with the movement of the baseball. Keep it simple. Even if it annihilates a pigeon in a murderous puff of feathers and guts it’s a, “dead ball”…Haha!
October 4, 2026 at 6:28 pm #320315October 4, 2026 at 9:55 pm #320320The last 2 times (’82 and ’11) that the Brewers got this close to the promised land they were dispatched by the St. Louis, Cardinals, but the Redbirds are nowhere to be found in ’26 post-season land. so after watching the first 2 games of their NLDS against the Padres, I’m thinking this may be the year that they hit the proverbial jackpot.
October 4, 2026 at 10:00 pm #320321Dodgers in deep trouble in the visitor half of the 8th with the bases jammed up and 1 out, but Sasaki gets a ground ball for a 6-4-3 GIDP to escape and give his team a fighting chance still down to the Braves 3-1 as the Dodgers come to bat in the home half. We’ll see what happens.
October 4, 2026 at 10:53 pm #3203223-1 Atlanta your final.
Doyers now must go to Atlanta and face Chris Sale.
Three-peat isn’t looking great at the moment.
October 4, 2026 at 11:04 pm #320323It’s now a best of 3 with the Braves in possession of HFA. Things change in hurry. We’ll see what happens.
October 5, 2026 at 12:43 pm #320368Mason Miller turned in to Riley O’Brien in game two. Not a good time to mimic our guy.
October 5, 2026 at 5:51 pm #320382He attempted to impersonate Fingers or Sutter and record 6 outs. A routine endeavor for those two HOF’ers, but not so much for a closer these days. They’re all limited to being a 9th inning guy in today’s game.
October 5, 2026 at 5:54 pm #320383Cleveland currently leads the ChiSox.
2-1 Indians in the home half of the 5th at Municipal Stadium in Cleveland.
October 5, 2026 at 6:00 pm #320384A razors’ edge game in CLE heading to the visitor half of the 6th as the Indians cling to sliver of a lead as they try avoid the White Sox’ broom.
October 5, 2026 at 6:12 pm #320385After Pham pops out to shallow LF with baserunners aboard at 2B and 3B, Montgomery delivers the 2 out, 2 RBI double to lift the White Sox to a 3-2 7th inning lead over the Indians at CLE.
October 5, 2026 at 6:14 pm #320386I just now noticed that Pham has played for 10 different teams in his 13 season Big League career.
October 5, 2026 at 6:17 pm #320387Now Meldroth pokes a 2 out RBI single to RF to push Montgomery across and extend the White Sox lead to 4-2.
October 5, 2026 at 6:23 pm #320388Watching this Indians-ChiSox game with Chicago hitting Cleveland with 3 6th inning tallies to seize a 4-2 advantage…..but I really like what this Indians reliever Hunter Gaddis brings to the table. I’m thinking we could swing a deal for him this winter. Gotta love the long hair and ZZ Top looking beard, coupled with his nasty stuff. Having both Gassy and Gaddis in our pen would be pretty darn Sweet…..with a capital “S”.
October 5, 2026 at 6:23 pm #320389These White Sox are on a proverbial roll that brings to mind that Ozzie Guillen led ’05 team that went 11-1 in that year’s postseason to win a WS championship.
October 5, 2026 at 6:34 pm #320390A pitcher passed away from that ’05 ChiSox squad, but can’t think of his name. I bet TD knows.
October 5, 2026 at 6:53 pm #320393I really get a kick watching how demonstrative some of these umps can be. Especially in big games they almost get carried away when making the call for the home team that they know will bring thunderous applause. In a way it probably psychologically gives them quite a boost.
October 5, 2026 at 6:56 pm #320395I had to look it up, Pugs, and it was Bobby Jenks from that ’05 White Sox team who recently died at 44 years of age after a bout with cancer. I knew that Wilber Wood had recently passed away, but the only two guys that I can consistently recall from that ’05 team are Guillen and A. J. Pierzynski. That ’05 WS championship team had a lot of players who I wouldn’t term as household names, but were solid baseball players. A genuine team effort.
October 5, 2026 at 7:04 pm #320396WhiteSox clinging to a 4-3 lead after eight innings.
October 5, 2026 at 7:05 pm #320397October 5, 2026 at 7:16 pm #320400Well, that’s that, and that’s 5 consecutive post-season W’s for the White Sox as they lower the broom on the Indians in game 3 to advance to the ALCS.
Edit…I need to drink more coffee!

October 5, 2026 at 7:27 pm #320402Yankees hand over the first run of the game to the Rays with their second Das Boot of the circus show home half of the 1st inning.
October 5, 2026 at 7:28 pm #3204033…..count them……3 Yankee errors here in the 1st inning…..and the inning isn’t even over yet.
