Once these post-season contests begin, it seems like the game reverts back to how it was meant to be played to win at all costs. I’m sure everyone noticed the 2nd inning sac-bunt from Harris to move Dubon over to 3B with 1 out after the lead-off double. What I’m driving at is that runs are still relatively important in the game of baseball…Especially in a tight high stakes baseball game.
The gamecast says that the Cubs/Padres game tonight will be on Peacock.
I wonder if it will be on NBC as well?
If it is on nothing but Peacock then I will not be able to view it.
Most years the MLB playoffs are on services I don’t get, but I see tonight’s games can be watched on YouTube with a subscription. I don’t have such a beast, but the Lovely Lady Bike has a YouTube sub, so I will see about dialing up on her account and catch a few frames.
Well phillies lost as i figured they would. You cant just turn it on after stinking for so long. I know the cards kind of did that in 2006 but it was a little different plus the cardinals had albert pujols. Phillies dont have anyone close to that. Harper went 0 for 4 today, stars have to shine when the lights are brightest.
The Under Assistant West Coast Promo Men who work for MLB are falling all over themselves in anticipation of this Red Sox/Yankees matchup which, in my estimation, lost it’s luster eons ago. The days of Munson/Fisk, Guidry/Lee, Jeter/Martinez, O’Neill/Clemens are nothing more than a distant memory.
Well im watching the yankee red sox game so it has cache for me. Schlittler is pitching great. Red sox pitcher is pitching good as well though hes given up more hits. Hard to see how schlittler fell all the way to 7th round in the draft, def a great pick by the yankees. One thing ill say is the umpire tonight isnt very good. A couple of challenges has went against him and there have been a few other times where players could have challenged and won.
Yeah, Schlittler’s the overwhelming favorite for the AL CYA but, in my estimation, Gray should also be afforded strong consideration. In any event, the Yankee guy is almost certian to receive the award because, well, he dresses out in those pinstripes…
Tatis and Machado each tater up off Cub’s pitcher Boyd in the home half of the 1st inning in SD to lift the Padres to an early 2-0 lead. That’s a pretty good way to get the home crowd amped up.
And the Yankees are asserting themselves in the home half of the 7th at Yankee Stadium as they’ve pushed across another run to extend their lead to 3-0 over the Red Sox. They’re still batting and have the bases jammed up with 0 outs. Boston’s in a world of it.
Anyone that’s watching the events at Yankee Stadium just saw a spectacular defensive play by the Red Sox 2B’man to start a 4-6-3 GIDP to afford the Red Sox a glimmer of hope. A Yankee run scored on the play to extend the Yankee lead to 4-0. That was a genuine Big League play at 2B.
I saw that 1tough. It wasnt bad, im not as impressed as you but it wasnt bad. One note schlittler threw 117 pitches tonight. I wasnt sure i would ever see someone throw that many again.
The SD faithful is chanting “Manny” in unison while Machado stands in. I’ve been saying for a long time that the Cardinals will never win anything at all unless we find us a Manny…Any Manny will do.

The Padres extend their lead to 3-0 over the Cubs in SD with a 3rd inning, 2 out RBI double from…You guessed it…Manny! We gotta get us one of them Mannys.
Boy, oh boy…An 8th inning GS tater off the bat of Yankee DH Rice makes it 9-0 and boom-boom out go the Red Sox’ lights. Rice is 4 for 5 with 2 HR’s and 6 RBI’s in this ALWC opener. Pretty good night’s work.
Yeah, I’ll take the Great Pujols any day, Willie. I’m going to go out on a limb and predict that the next all time great Cardinal slugger that comes along will be named, Manny Albert…
SD tacks on another run on a 4th inning, 2 out, solo tater off the bat of Bogaerts to extend the Padre lead to 4-0 over the Cubs. If SD doesn’t make this lead stand up for a W, my baseball gypsy expert will be 0 for 4 concerning the outcomes of today’s playoff action…
All jokes aside, the Padres have some weapons and they’ve been playing well at the right time. I’m seeing danger signs for anyone that plays them right now.
