Voting has never been tighter!! It’s just about anyone’s ballgame here!

Unfortunately, our voting here most likely will possess more excitement and suspense than next year’s Cardinals games. I literally burnt the midnight oil until the wee hours last night figuring out just who was going to be my 36th selection. And I’m still not 100% sure that I made the correct choice.

    34. Kenly Standford Hunter
    35. Andrew “The Duke of Diamonds” Dutkanych
    36. Hancel Alexander Rincon

    #34. Cade Crossland (my #25)
    #35. Andrew Dutkanych (my #27)
    #36. Miguel Hernandez (my #28)

I didn’t expect to be voting for Crossland this late into the process still. He is my #25. Starting caliber pitcher upside with his fastball + changeup combo.

Hernandez is another exciting DSL guy who performed well. I really hope to see Hernandez keep growing and putting on muscle mass. I really like that Hernandez does a good job of hitting fly balls and line drives which should help him tap into power if he puts some muscle mass on. Obviously a significant amount of risk with a DSL guy so a year from now this ranking could look silly, but the upside makes him my #28 prospect

    #34 Kenley Hunter
    #35 Hancel Rincon
    #36 Yaxson Lucena

Venzuelan teen Lucena cut his strikeout rate nearly in half from ’24 to ’25 while still hitting for decent power, and in right field he’s posted approximately one Baserunner Kill (outfield assist, for the traditionalists) per four games played in his very brief career. Yes you read that correctly, one per four games.

Two hours to go in the voting, and it’s still close. I may be a touch delayed in posting results (family Thanksgiving, of course), but they will be in sometime early in the afternoon.

3-3 gentlemen! Batting 1000 is always a sweet thing. I think an encore performance is in order here with picks 37-39:

    37. Yaxson Alberto Lucena
38………I think I need a bit more time to refine matters here at 38 & 39.

Utilityman Mendlinger’s own organization hates him, sticking him in AA for three years; but once they finally gave him his overdue promotion he hit quite well for Memphis in his one-month look-see (127 OPS+ and a mere 8% K rate).

Shortstop Hernandez fanned too much for the DSL, but was quite young — he’ll still be 17 on Opening Day, 2026 — and showed pop, patience, and speed.

(I’m taking Koperniak out of my ranking because I don’t think he should be ranked this far out.)

    38. Matt Koperniak (my #30). Shaking my head a bit that former voters will leave the rest of us out to dry by switching votes. Either he’s better than your guys ranked below or not. Koperniak has a better chance to be a big leaguer than most voted on right now.

    39. Royelny Strop, OF (my #34). Sons of former big leaguers just have a way of turning out better than those who aren’t. Strop is a little bigger physically than most coming out of the Dominican. He had a great last month and I think he’ll use that as a springboard to a helium filled 2026.

I agree with this. But Koperniak is something of an outlier in that he’s almost 28 years old and did not impress in 2025. I didn’t give up on Koperniak. I decided to stop voting for him rather than saddling him with a ranking this far past where I think he belongs.
