Why many of us prefer Dutkanych than B.Davis, despite he was chosen in a higher draft round ?

Dutkanych has 1st round talent, but obviously has major injury concerns. Every prospect at this point has major problems though with some of them having very low ceilings. The odds are certainly not in his favor, but I think the odds of an injury risk like him are better than the odds of very low ceiling players vastly improving their ceiling.

    My votes:

    34. Ian Petrutz, OF. Again

    35. Brycen Mautz, LHP. I think he’s got some of that reliever helium going. He got generally better as the season wore on (3.55 ERA, 9.59 K to 3.37 BB per 9 from July 11th onward). I think he’s got a puncher’s chance to get to the bigs ones day. Maybe a better chance than a number in front of him, but it’s possible his stuff won’t be effective at the velocity he will need to maintain.

    36. Ryan Loutos, RHP. Speaking of, he already made it to the big leagues. I have Mautz ahead of him because I think there’s an ever so slightly better chance that he becomes an impact reliever than Loutos. But Loutos obviously has the floor of an up and down guy. It’s helpful to have these sorts ready to go at Memphis. Solid sinker-change guy.

About 3 hours left in the voting…#34 and 35 are about locked up (order TBD) but #36 could go a couple of ways! Pugs in particular only got part of his vote in from his late picks last round. There’s still time to vote!

    37. Michael Watson
TCN System Wide Rookie Pitcher of the Year. Palm Beach ERA .68, WHIP 1.050 (13.1 IP)

    38. Jack Findlay
Spent entire year recovering from TJ. FB in high school reportedly 90MPH, but picked up a tick or two later on. Has three other pitches.

    39. Keiverson Ramirez
Pitched well in DSL. Third lowest ERA in DSL.

All three of these players have, essentially, no track record. Michael Watson just showed up in the organization last summer. Jack Findlay didn’t pitch because of injury. Keiverson Ramirez pitched in the DSL where stats are meaningless. So they’re all at least starting out with a clean slate. For me, ranking numbers 40-50 will be easier because I’ll be ranking them based on what little they have shown so far.

    37. Brycen Mautz, LHP. The last guy on my list that I’d bet a shekel on making the major leagues if I was a betting man.

    38. Ryan Campos, C. A catcher in the mold of Pedro Pages and Jeremy Martinez, except more bat first. Good stats early on, but we know how these things go (hello, old friends Dennis Ortega and Carlos Soto). Could be the next Crooks or could be the next Martinez.

    39. Jeremy Rivas, IF. Possibly could carve out a role as an up and down glove guy. A below average hitter without much power at all, but he’s a reliable glove at SS and that gives him at least a tiny shot of being the next Pete Kozma.

I missed that Loutos had not been voted for yet as I did have him up at 27 on my list.

I’m pleasantly surprised to see Church and Antico on people’s lists around here. I don’t have them quite yet, but I do have them in a few spots.
