You don’t see many players collect their first Big League hit in a post-season game. I wonder how many times that’s happened?
I’d say Cleveland’s fortunate to have escaped that 3rd inning down by only a run. Baserunners at 2nd and 3rd with less than 2 outs can quickly turn into a genuine catastrophe…1-0, Tigers.
Jack’s now thru 3 full innings of shutout work on 42 pitches. Pretty nice looking line so far allowing only 1 hit and 0 BB’s to go along with 4 K’s.
That camera work that looks like it comes from the HPU’s forehead leaves no doubt whatsoever that mortal human beings have no chance of surviving a trip into a Big League batter’s box…Haha!
The CS and GIDP really serves to pluck Jack from the fire. All tied up at 1-1 heading into the visitor half of the 5th.
Jack’s work is all done after the 2 out BB in the 5th. I’m a little surprised Hinch went out and got him after 74 pitches. He looked good to me and I’d have left him in there.

Perez comes thru with the bases jammed 2 RBI base hit to lift the Tigers to a 4-1 lead in the 7th. Tigers still with baserunners at the corners with 1 out and another run or two may be insurmountable.
Yep, the rout is just about on in Cleveland. Turns out that all that furious comebacking from Cleveland and backpedaling from Detroit was for naught.
Pretty impressive if Detroit holds on and wins this series. They looked to be left for dead a few days ago with Cleveland having all of the momentum. As Lee Corso would say, “not so fast my friend.”
And Crowbar lofts a soft RBI base hit to shallow LCF to lift the cubbies to a 1-0 lead, I’m not sure how long I’d stay with Darvish. And as I key that in, Schildt goes out a gets him.
That Indian with the toothy grin ain’t smiling as the Tigers advance with a 6-3 W in Cleveland. That’s what happens when you change your name to guardians…
Glad the Tigers advanced. Now I need the Padres to put up some crooked numbers.
Hopefully tonight the Yanks and Sox defy reality and both lose.
