Well to my displeasure, the cubs beat the padres today. I think if shildt dont get it done this year, he may be done. Padres have had a solid team for a while and are missing their chances.

Well, I’m 0 for 2 today and with with 2 games still to play it could get a lot worse. That’s why I never make pedictions. Especially about the future…

I’m 2-2 so far……..along with someone else(cough cough…..Brian) who may have taken a sneak peek at my selections and smartly did the same. Early on in today’s game with San Diego up 1-0 and with runners on the corners with just 1 out, Dansby Swanson made a spectacular running catch on a short fly ball ticketed for an outfield single. If he doesn’t make that play then San Diego goes up 2-0 and are in great position to tack on more. Right after Swanson caught that ball, I knew it was over and the cubbies would win, so I immediately turned off the tv. That play took me right back to Round 1 Game 1 of the 2006 playoffs vs these Pads, when Ronnie Belliard made a great defensive play and thus shifted all of the momentum smack dab into the Cardinal dugout. Let us pray that this 2025 cubbies squad does not fare nearly as well in October as that 2006 Redbird team.

I am 1-1, but said in my comments I thought Skubal would win game one for Detroit. I saw some stats about how many game one winners go on to win the series, and it is overwhelming.

But somehow I think the Guardians are going to find that magic they had in September and get’er done. I think they will win game 2 rather easily, and game 3 will go into the late innings tied with either club having a chance. The team that gets the clutch hit will win it.

And as I mentioned, the Cubs really looked good pounding us over the final weekend. Not that beating us is any great feat, but they seem to be a bit of a destiny team. We will see though. Things can look a lot different a day later.

The RedSox are clinging to a 2-1 lead in the top of the 9th at Yankee Stadium.

If they can hold on it would be a huge win for them.

    Stay tuned……

Red Sox make it 2 of 3 W’s for the visiting WC teams so far today with the 3-1 W at Yankee Stadium. Luke Weaver gets tagged for the BS and the L.

Well, the Dodgers may save me from an 0 for 4 day as they lead the Reds by a score of 8-0 heading to the 7th. Ohtani and Hernandez with 4 HR’s and 7 RBI’s between them. Little Eddie also with a solo tater. Dodgers feature plenty of firepower and I simply don’t expect anyone to unseat them. Long way to go, but expect them to repeat as WS champs.

Yeah, the Dodgers bailed me out to prevent a 1TD schneider for yesterday’s action, but things change in a hurry in the game of baseball and these matchups are all best of 3, so I’m sticking with Yogi…Haha!

Whether or not he knows what he’s doing, Hinch leaves me with the impression that he indeed does. Tight 1-1 game 2 in Cleveland.

Actually I was 2-2 in yesterday’s games if you use my “head” predictions. My “heart” predictions were 0-4, but that makes sense as my heart wants mostly dogs.

The Indians take a 3-1 lead in the 8th and are still batting in the home half and the Padres lead the Cubbies 1-0 in the 3rd at Wrigley. Lots of baseball to go before anyone claims any prizes.

Machado puts the Padres up 3-1 with a 2 run tater in the visitor half of the 5th. I’ve always maintained that the Redbirds need a Manny. Any sort of Manny will do. You can’t hardly go wrong with a Manny in the game of baseball…Every team needs at least one Manny.

Yep Dom we need to trade 2 Nolans for 1 Manny. Manny is in the playoffs and hit a 2 run bomb. Nolans are wondering where they will play next year.

It’s actually 3-0 Padres in the top of the 8th at Wrigley.

Cubs lose 3-0. Padres have a very good bullpen. Hopefully they win again tomorrow.

Things are returning to normal as a 5th inning 2 run tater from a player named Manny helps to lift the Padres over the Cubbies to a 3-1 W and tie up their series at 1 apiece. The Indians also enjoy a 6-1 W to tie up their series at 1-1. And the Yankees currently lead the Red Sox by a 2-0 score in the visitor half of the 3rd at Yankee Stadium. With a win by both the Yankees and Reds in today’s games, there could be 4 instances of a 7th game on Thursday, but the Reds have no chance against the Dodgers who I think will repeat as WS champs.

Yankees take a 4-3 lead into the visitor half of the 9th and try to make it stand up as the Red Sox are down to their last 3 outs.

Yankees hang a 4-3 final up on the board and create a possibility of 4 elimination games tomorrow.

I’m not sure why I thought the Cubbies scored a run, but I stand corrected as the final of the Padres W over the Cubs was 3-0. The big hero in that game was a guy named Manny. I wish we had a Manny or two…Hopefully the one known as Bloom will produce a player named Manny and save the Cardinals. In any case, I’m 3 for 3 in today’s games so far and have a chance to hit for the cycle with a Dodger W over the Reds…
