Brian, respectfully, Burly deserves plenty of praise. Don’t you think? Most Burleson threads have faded a way. Comparing the possibility of the #7 pick in the draft to possibly making the strides Burleson has made seems relevant to draft discussion.
Shady, since you seem disinterested in finding them yourself, I will be happy to pull up one of the many Burly threads you already started or hijacked so you can add to them. Or I can start a new one just for you, but only if you promise not to turn every other discussion into more Burly worship. It is tiring.

comment on about Burleson on various threads. He’s a hot item, right now. I do get pretty overwhelmed by Burleson’s rare hitting ability. And what he’s done to help this team. Yes that includes the 5% overage. However, Davis’ bonus was just announced a bit ago by Carlos Collazo of Baseball America and he signed for the full slot amount. Therefore, the Cardinals only left $124,550 unused. They spent $386,100 over their allocated amount.

Why is Findlay worthy of $175K overslot? He’s an old for his class junior coming off of TJ surgery. What leverage did he have? I’m clearly missing something?? Did he throw 98 pre-injury? Is he related to Mo??

Andrew Dutkanych IV will be the cream of the Cardinal pitching crop out of this 2024 draft. Don’t let those two major injuries dampen your enthusiasm……this guy is going to be a dandy.

He’s arguably our best pitcher from the draft and will likely be able to pitch this year. Big curve guy and will likely be a good reliever one day.
Dutkanych is a big talent as well. They are the two I like the most, other than Wetherholt of course.

The only player from this draft that is in Brian’s and Blake’s Top 30 is Wetherholt. Wouldn’t it be crazy if there turned out to be two or more star players that emerged from this odd draft?!
Star players? Yeah, I think it would be unusual. But several solid contributors seems possible. It’s a very interesting group of hitters.
I look at Dutka as a high school player coming off of TJ surgery since he pitched so little in college. Might be a little stronger than most HS pitchers. If he recovers could be a steal but who knows how his recovery will go
The Cardinals desperately need to develop impact players, whether pitchers or position players. They already have some success with contributor types, although some could be a bit more solid.
We need to develop starters that fill mid and top rotation, and we need to develop middle of the order power bats. Bear that in mind and then take a look through this draft class. What do we have?
