Just now getting a peek at this one. The one run difference doesn’t bode well. It’s nice to see a 5 run inning back in the 3rd, but we don’t have a pitcher that can work an inning or two with allowing some runs. Seems like the law of averages would eventually fall into place and someone could make an appearance without allowing a run.

We need a runner bad and DeJong can’t even put a bat on the ball. I hate that. If you can’t hit, then bunt.

Just checked the box nothing from 7 thru 9 but 2 walks. Goldy strangely missing too. Nado and Contreras powering us tonight.

The open stance can be helpful for seeing the ball, especially when a right (left) handed hitter is right (left) eye dominant. Then it’s all about how the hitter’s swing reacts to pitch location.

Speaking of open stances, any of you experienced guys remember Dick McAuliffe of the Tigers? His was somewhat unique. Not to agitate any scar tissue, but he was a member of the ’68 Tigers.

Dick McAuliffe really had an open stance. His right foot was practically out of the box.

Goldy really needed to do something different there.

Man – we just do not hit in close games. But again, any decent pitching at all and this would not be close. The offense has been good.

The thing I remember most about McAuliffe is how much he choked up. With two strikes he choked up even more. It was actually funny looking on top of how funny looking his stance was anyway.

1st and 3rd, one out, followed by 2 Ks. I think there’s some real money to be made on live betting. You can see some of this stuff happen before it happens.

I think we may be looking at a rare four game sweep folks. It is just one of those years. You get a five run inning and still could very well lose the game.

Yep, I wasn’t thinking about how much McAuliffe choked up. Where I lived we got a lot of Braves games. Felix Millan might’ve choked up more than anyone I ever saw.

Good call on Felix Millan – he did choke up a lot. And McAuliffe did as well. For all his power, Goldy chokes up a little. Rare to see in this day.

Glad we aren’t the team 1 up with Galeagos pitching late. No way he can blow the save!

Well, going into the ninth and its a one run game. Aren’t we great at one run games, or have I mixed up my meds again?

It seems unlikely, but there’s still a chance. I think it’ll take a HR to avoid the loss.

Redlegs doing it again, up 7-1 late. We are falling out of sight in a mediocre division.

Contreras is a real ball player! So is Donovan! We have some players but also a few posers!

Like that hustle and enthusiasm from Contreras. These guys are still battling despite the brutal record.

That swing there from Walker where he lost his balance – needs to step in to and drive the ball. He pulls off it. Great talent but I think he could really be something with a bit more of an “attack” style swing, than the long stroke.
