Just tuned in, a lot offense early, huh? Or a lot of bad pitching?
Liberatore gave up four runs and recorded one out.

That’s been Hudson’s problem – he has good stuff but command does him in. If he could learn to be more consistent in the strike zone he could be pretty good. That good sinker would serve him well, but he does not throw enough strikes.
Man, Carlson has K’d twice on pitches nowhere near the zone. He’s a guy you would really like to see mature and get to where his production is what you thought it could be coming through the organization.
This is Carlson’s 4th year in the bigs. It seems like the best we could hope for is league average, with some usefulness vs LHP. I think the Cards have seen enough to be honest.
If we don’t win this one, we could very well be staring at a four game sweep with Perez going tomorrow.

The thing about that trade is it seemingly had such a wide spread of opinions. Some thought it was awful the Cards hadn’t already given Arozarena a legitimate shot to prove himself and even worse that Mo made the trade before giving him that chance. Others thought Mo landed a fierce hook upside the Rays’ jaw by getting such a high draft choice starting pitcher prospect. For a good while, both sides were still entrenched, hearing some say, just wait — it’ll even up when Liberatore emerges. Not sure that’s still being said much.
In hindsight the big clues were Mo making a trade involving a young pitching prospect and Neander was on the other end.

Easy to see why we are so bad. Lousy pitching, and our number three hitter has a .752 OPS. .752 is not horrible, but not at three. Your number three guy should be around .900 if you are any good.
Noot could pull off hitting third for a while when he’s hot, but he hasn’t been hot. He’s mostly been cold, so it doesn’t make any sense. Not that we should expect it to, I guess.
Hey bling, does OliMo’s computer have the flexibility to pencil hot Noot into the lineup vs cold Noot? You gotta select the right one from the drop down menu.
Yes on Walker – close up a little and direct the energy to the bat. Seems like the way he swings, he pulls off the ball a little and loses some power. Not too mention the outside pitch will be tough to handle.
Memories – in a game I got called out on strikes one time as a teenager, I did exactly the same thing Segura did. I drew a line in the dirt where the pitch was, but the ump did not kick me out. I think he knew he blew the call.
Being a rookie I guess, Walker was way too polite to the ump when he questioned the called strike that was about a half foot low. But then we just got one back on Segura’s ridiculous ꓘ. I like what Segura did much better. These umps are terrible so often.
