Kniz has improved, but his line is still terrible.

Before last night, he had the same OPS as Contreras, who we are using as a DH

    Kiz line isn’t terrible for a catcher, its average-ish, w/solid D.

Boy you know you’re getting a little long in the tooth when even Mel Stottlemyer Jr. is looking as old as dirt.

I hadn’t looked in a few days. To clarify, Kiz came in today as a 79 ops+, and a mlb catcher is 87. I better go with below avg, but not terrible, among catchers.

So two avg-ish hitting catchers. We’re rollin in the deep fer shur.

Waino can’t let the hole get any deeper here in the 4th because we have no chance against Luzardo.

Getting hit by a Waino pitch probably wouldn’t even result in an “ouch” being uttered these days.

Ha, yeah, he should only get to go half way to first.

It doesn’t seem like Waino can get those last two wins starting. They are going to have to piggy back him after somebody else and hope he gets in the way of a couple wins.

So, Romero called in with 1 out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 4th, down by 4 runs. Welcome back.

Good grief, what else can go wrong. Bobbles a come backer with the sacks jammed.

Pitcher’s don’t have to step into the box anymore, so the least they could do is field their position.

It just gets worse and worse. These guys are supposed to be profesionals.

Back in the day when a pitcher had to take his PA’s, I always maintained that a SP’er who could consistently field his position and lay down a sac-bunt would add a couple of bonus W’s to his W/L record every season.

With all of the recent wholesale changes to the game, I think you’re on to something, Bling. Maybe a batter who’s hit by a pitch above the shoulders should be awarded 2nd base. Any hit by pitch resulting in blood should award the batter 3rd base and possibly any batter hit by a pitch resulting in the batter cussing like a sailor and charging the mound should immediately be allowed to circle all of the bases so to calm matters down……ahhh another Marlins hit and now we’re looking at a 7-0 deficit.

An argument could be made that if the batter got hit by a 72 mph pitch he did not make an effort to get out of the way.

Man alive…7-0. I’d have to say that even though Skippy has deep roots in the Redbird organization, he’s going to make it a point that his team go for the throat in this 4 game set. I don’t think many of us would be surprised by a 4 game sweep.

Davis won’t win any Academy awards by not pretending that he caught that ball, but I guess with instant replay, it really doesn’t matter these days.

Oh too bad as Davis is getting carted off the field.

In other news, Joey “Jaws” Chestnut wins his 16th mustard belt. The Champ!

Sweet news TexasCard! How many did Joey C. wolf on down?

Only 62 after a long rain delay, lol. He wolfed them down like feasting on an Adam Wainwright fastball.

Was out riding the bike during the first four and listening to the KMOX broadcast. Got home, game was already 4-0 Miami, cleaned up, put some lunch together and am out on the patio – dialed in the game again on the tablet.

As it was coming up I said to myself, “It is probably 7-0 by now.” The game came up and sure enough, 7-0.

I think I know this 2023 Cardinal team too well. 🙁
