ParticipantNo way Woodford should have gone back out after 2. Manager is an idiot
He just got back up, and threw 2 solid innings. Mgmt screw up againJune 13, 2023 at 10:02 pm #224360Clutch work by Verhagen to get out of the jam. He is way to valuable to get rid of. Facetious alert!!
June 13, 2023 at 10:06 pm #224361Is there anything left for Marmol to say at his post-game presser?
Oh no, we suck again? lol
Absolutely nothing they are doing is working. I think they expect to lose every time out now – and they pretty much do.
June 13, 2023 at 10:08 pm #224362Last night’s post game interview with Marmol was very short and depressing. He had no answers except “we were bad.” Tonight’s even worse, so let’s see if he even shows up.
June 13, 2023 at 10:12 pm #224363So, I guess trade Flaherty, Mikolas, Goldschmidt, Arenado, and anyone else over the age of 27 on this roster that you can and try to get a huge HAUL of prospects back?
We need a new POBO before the trade deadline. I agree with others that don’t want Mo making any more decisions for this organization.
Will Bill do what needs to be done and pull the trigger on Mo? Somehow I doubt it….
June 13, 2023 at 10:13 pm #224364I think Marmol has to show up and answer questions but if the reporters are nice / feel sorry for him it can be a really short post game presser.
June 13, 2023 at 10:15 pm #224365I now honestly think we will finish dead last in the putrid NL Central. I can’t believe I just typed that.
June 13, 2023 at 10:16 pm #224366Now at 14 under .500 and tied with the low point of the season on May 6th. Tomorrow’s game presents a chance to explore uncharted depths. Maybe I’m naive, but I’m thinking 15 games under .500 pulls the proverbial pin.
June 13, 2023 at 10:22 pm #224367The A’s have now won 6 in a row. Wish we could do that.
June 13, 2023 at 10:31 pm #224368Well, according to Oli in the post game, everything is good. The team just isn’t winning. No changes needed and everyone trusts each other. You should hear the conversations they are having in the clubhouse, it’s completely different than what you see on the field or in the final result. Be patient.
I have just one word: delusional.
June 13, 2023 at 10:39 pm #224369Yeah, I’m reasonably sure a lot of others have noticed that he ends many of his statements with the phrase, “I’ll tell you that.” He certainly tells us a lot of things, but the only thing he shows us is the worst team in the NL. Not only will I tell you that, but I can back it up simply by showing you the facts…
June 13, 2023 at 10:57 pm #224370This season is toast
They need a coherent plan on who they are going to trade/what they can get in return and then who they are keeping for the future
I would think Goldschmidt would bring the most, as I don’t see them trading Arenado b/c of his age and friendly contract.
Would think all the starters are available outside of Libratore just because of contract and age.
Would think all the relievers are available outside of possibly Helsley, but he would probably bring the most return
Would assume Walker, Donovan, Gorman are staying….Edman possibly but he could be a good piece for a contender and him and Donovan are somewhat repetitive if Winn is the ss next year
They also will need a new manager for next year

He’s a forking idiot and a pupper to boot.
He’s got to go!
June 14, 2023 at 1:16 am #224372Contreras hitting fifth? The world wonders. Let’s let the worst manager on baseball find another job.

June 14, 2023 at 6:20 am #224378Firing the manager is the easy and trivial move. A symbolic gesture but won’t move the needle much in the w-l column. Stubby and Skippy aren’t going to save us.
The owner needs to realize that his front office has bungled this roster completely and needs a new direction.

It seems unlikely that the bungling would be confined to the major league roster construction. That is probably just the most visible result of a more widespread bungle.

Thank you. I needed a good laugh…maybe we all do.
