And another thing no way I let these fools handle the trade deadline. They are incompetent. The whole lot of them.

They sure should, TexCard. The manager should have been sacked 6 weeks ago.

FGM, is that Fake General Manager?

Yes Euro. That’s what he is. He can also be called Starbucks, since he’s nothing more than a coffee barista for POBO.

Marmol isn’t a good manager but he’s not THE problem. Unfortunately, this mess starts at the top and we can’t fire the owner.

Mo and all his minions need to clean out their desks tomorrow.

Bill needs to hire a real baseball man as POBO / GM and then go do whatever it is he does and let the baseball man do his job.

Firing Marmol solves nothing. It won’t change the organizational philosophy, it won’t fix this mess of a roster, it won’t fix anything.

There is no manager that could win here right now. The mess has been brewing for years and – here we are.

It took Mo a decade to get here – it’ll take a real POBO a few seasons to get the stench out.

College World Series starts this Friday. Not sure what I’ll do when that’s over. I guess I can join my 92 y/o Mother and adopt the Braves as a 2nd team the rest of the season. Talked to her today and she was telling me how well they’re doing in spite of some pitching injuries. Then she asked me how the Cards were doing.

I haven’t seen Al on any of the post-game shows for a week or so. Judge Johnny must’ve issued a gag order.

You gotta start somewhere ZTR. I say clean house all of them and now. Waiting gains nothing.

You’re right Texas BUT we have to play out the rest of the season with someone. Mo needs to go and then we need a Theo Epstein type to come in go to work. The new guy (if we get one) will want to hire his own people.

This season is a complete loss anyway so what’s the point in letting Mo fire or hire anyone?

Until he’s gone it doesn’t matter.

    This team needs an enema.

Well, the manager’s almost always the first guy to go. On rare occasions I’ve seen the entire palace stormed by the Bolsheviks resulting in an entirely different regime and ideology, but that’s rare. I’d bet a dollar the Cardinal manager gets placed in the soup line first, and Johnny hangs on for at least another season or two.

I don’t see Teflon Johnny going anywhere either.

I agree Z. I want Mozliak fired tonight. I don’t want him making another decision on behalf of this franchise.

Since an Oli firing at this point makes Mo and Bill look really bad, Blake and Girsch might be better candidates as fall guys and something they can sell to the press as actions taken to recover from this train wreck. Pitching is obvious and they can tout an urgently needed improvement to their analytics that just wasn’t delivering what they expected and needed.

I am in agreement with ZTR. The change needs to start at the top. You cannot let this Front Office make any major moves given all that has happened over the past five seasons or so. They have misjudged hte abilities of a number of young players, botched several free agent signings and misjudged roster competitiveness. I see more of the same if you leave them in charge.

Ownership needs to bring in another person to lead the restructuring activities. Ideally this can be done soon so the new person can evaluate what the organization has and what it needs before the end of the season (both on the field and in the front office). I am advocating an approach similar to that used by Gussie when he hired Whitey. It will not change how the team finishes this season, but has the potential to set up a productive offseason.

I detected some disgust from Caray on the uncaught Schmitt foul ball when he said the ball hung up there “forever.”

The real question is will Dimwitt have the sack to get rid of Mo or is Mo pulling Jedi mind tricks on him?

The second question is will the Cardinals realize the path they are on does not work and go get someone that has a proven track record come in here and fix this mess.

The third question is how many seasons of crappy baseball will we have to watch to get good? The Astros were bad for a few but they have now been really good for a decade.

I see this as a complete burn it to the ground and start over – which I will hate to have to sit though and watch but if there is year over year improvement and you can see the process working and building back to being a legitimate title contender again – it’ll soften all the losing….

Right now, there is no hope. The team stinks. The architect of the stench is still in control and we can’t even think about getting better until a change is made.

This is the worst of times because we know it can’t even begin to get better until a new POBO / GM takes over and we don’t know when that will be or even if it will happen.

I’m not implying it couldn’t happen and I’d be the first to say that Johnny should be shown the door, but it’s my belief that the Cardinals would have to suffer through at least one more season similar to this one before Billy Jr. would have him hand over the keys to the shop.

I think I’m done for the year! It’s just too hard to watch! Rudderless and heartless play! Terrible pitching! No hustle or effort! This team is headed t a 100 loss season!

And I’ll also say that this team’s manager is a horrible one. I’m convinced these players don’t want to play for the guy. When that happens, it doesn’t matter if Johnny’s running the show or not.

When we get rid of Mo, Firing Marmol will be the very first move the new POBO makes, lol

As bad as this team has been Marmol has to know he’s a goner – ‘Amazing job’ done or not.

That had to be one of the top 5 dumbest Mo quotes ever…..

Why would Johnny say in an interview that he thinks the players on this team, “Trust the manager?” Does he mean that they’re comfortable leaving their expensive wrist watches laying around when the Cardinal manager is present in the clubhouse?

Why is Verhagen in the game? It’s 11 to 3 just put a position player out there and stop wasting a bullpen arm.

Good grief – this is some big brain stuff going on right here….
