You can’t have your cake and eat it too. If you say that Helsley is legitimate closer, then he is being mismanaged.
If he is not a legitimate closer, then management is stupid for using as such.
Either way, bad management. Pick your poison

Yesterday we won by a ghost runner, a SB and a PB. Losing by two BBs and a double seems less outrageous. I am pretty tired of the Helsley experience. But the trouble can be traced back to the 5 inning start. That is not an acceptable performance.

The starting rotation will end up being the death of this team. Next year’s too if they don’t add 3 good ones.

Yep, a make believe runner, a SB, PB and 2 hits.

Been taking a look at the ATL/PHI game on ESPN and Acuna Jr. with a 4 for 5, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored night. He’s putting together a heck of a season and I’d have to say he’s the frontrunner for the NL MVP award at this juncture. He’s on pace to score well over 120 runs and already has 22 SB’s and only been CS 3 times.

I’ll bet Mo cringes every time he sees Acuna’s stats.

This is the first time I’ve seen Acuna since way back when the Cardinals played the Braves in their second series of the season, ZTR. He’s since put up real nice numbers clear across the board. Every time I check the NL leaders, he’s atop too many offensive categories to count. He just makes so many runs in so many different ways.

    ZTR:

Why would Mo cringe at Acuna’s stats?

Yeah, I don’t understand that either Nate. I believe the Nationals were the only other organization that were close to signing Acuna. So they may cringe, but as far as I know us and 27 other clubs were not pursuing him, or had no shot at him.

I had a brain fart – was thinking of another player. Let me retract that comment.
