Dom, I’ll have what you’re having
I don’t know what it is CLG, but he’s got me sipping Scotch for him tonight.
May 22, 2023 at 6:17 pm #221583You just know what’ll happen…He’ll rip the hide off it until the Redbirds decide to keep him around at the deadline at which point he’ll fall off the flat earth into oblivion.
May 22, 2023 at 6:25 pm #221584If we let one guy pretend like he stinks for three years and then let him off easy, everyone will do it.
May 22, 2023 at 6:27 pm #221585Yeah, and you can’t blame ’em for that…
May 22, 2023 at 6:28 pm #221586If Walker can learn to lay off those sliders like Gorman is doing, he’ll be in business.
May 22, 2023 at 6:33 pm #221587Well, I stand corrected on hitting the ball to left. They can also be home runs. I’m glad the Reds pointed out my error.
May 22, 2023 at 6:33 pm #221588I was hoping for a spectacular over the wall leaping catch by Yeps. Not happnin.
May 22, 2023 at 6:33 pm #221589Both Caray and myself thought he got that 2-2 pitch and it came down 20 ft. shy of the track. Must have hit it off the end.
May 22, 2023 at 6:35 pm #221590Is Jordan thrown off because there have been 4 or 5 times where the ump hasn’t called a low strike a strike?
May 22, 2023 at 6:38 pm #221591Nice to escape down by 1.
May 22, 2023 at 6:40 pm #221592Also, Knizner should stop calling for non moving changeups right down the middle of the plate. Just take that pitch out of the rotation.
May 22, 2023 at 6:41 pm #221593I get a real strong sense that if this game’s going to go into the good column, the 2 guys that normally provide the lion’s share of offense are going to have lend DeJong a hand.
May 22, 2023 at 6:42 pm #221594Mercado and Knizner?
May 22, 2023 at 6:44 pm #221595C’mon Eddie. Just reach base in front of Goldy.
May 22, 2023 at 6:46 pm #2215961td, I thought you might like this.
Hall of Fame sports writer Rick Hummel always believed managers should wear their full uniform & he let #STLCards skipper Oli Marmol know it several times.
Tonight, Marmol (37) is wearing his jersey — and not a hoodie — to honor The Commish, who passed away this weekend. pic.twitter.com/FLNHDg9Mhk

May 22, 2023 at 6:49 pm #221597Yeah, Euro, Mr. Rick Hummel told him a long time ago that the Cardinals gave him a number for a reason…Wear it.
May 22, 2023 at 6:49 pm #221598Proud of Ollie. And especially of Mr. Hummel. His name is synonymous with baseball. Man we have been so lucky to have so many great ones.
May 22, 2023 at 6:49 pm #221599Rat, I thought the Dodgers should have tried to trade for DeJong after Lux got hurt in spring training but they didn’t. They could have had him for free. If they try it now it will be harder for them to get the Cardinals eat the money considering how well PDJ is playing.
May 22, 2023 at 6:51 pm #221600Yeah, we would have paid them to take DeJong just to get a third rate prospect back.
May 22, 2023 at 6:56 pm #221601Monty not having that pitch at the knees go his way.
May 22, 2023 at 7:00 pm #221602He might not be able to take the baseball to start the 5th.
May 22, 2023 at 7:00 pm #221603Just think, the Yankees could have gotten DeJong instead of Bader. All they’d have had to do was ask.
May 22, 2023 at 7:03 pm #221604I’m guessing they could still get an affirmative answer.
May 22, 2023 at 7:05 pm #221605Yes, but now they’d have to give us at least some kind of mid level prospect back and pay him completely. And that might still be a good deal for them.
May 22, 2023 at 7:08 pm #221606That indian at 2B is pretty good.
