I know quite a few folks who don’t think highly of old Dusty, but TLR seemed to like him okay…Has anyone ever seen the photo of the former Redbird HOF field manager bouncing little Dusty up and down on his knee? They both have bright and shiny smiles on their faces…Particularly little Dusty who’s gleeful expression looks as though he’s having the time of his life as his uncle Tony playfully bounces the adorable little guy up and down as if he were riding a carousel pony…Haha!

Well, the Cardinals are 11-3 in the last 16 days since their low water mark. They are only 5 games out of first instead of 10 games. I hope they can keep this up.

Yeah, me too, Forsch. At 5 games back, that’s nothing, but when they were 10 games back, that’s in genuine danger of quickly continuing to 12 to 14 and being virtually insurmountable no matter how early it is.

We’re getting Yepez in the OF again tonight.

Fortunately I will be missing most of this game because of work.

OK, pre-season did anybody predict Yepez. Mercado, Edman?

The Redbirds are 8-2 in their last 10 games against three very good teams in the Dodgers, Brewers and Red Sox. They swept the Red Sox in 3 games at Fenway, took 2 of 3 from the Brewers and 3 of 4 from the Dodgers at home in StL. They’ve also made up considerable ground to pull to within 5 games back in the NLC. I’d say that everyone should be reasonably happy at the moment, but we all know how baseball is. How inconceivable would it be for the Cardinals to saunter into a missle silo like Great American Ballpark for 4 games with the last place Reds and once again have this rotation exposed to the glaring deficiences we’ve witnessed for the first 48 games to place a significant damper on the success we’ve seen in the last 3 weeks or so? I’d say it’s in the best interest of the fellas to bring all the bats to fight their way out of that bandbox.

I thought Eddie may be placed at lead-off today with him swinging the hot bat and The Nootz scuffling. It scares me that I’m thinking like you know who…Haha!

Right now I like Mercado anywhere in the OF that you can fit him until he cools off. And he will.

Gorman starting vs the LHP Williamson.

Insofar as Yepez in LF, I’m seeing an overwhelmingly clear and seemingly real pattern that consists of numerous brightly colored daisies and butterflys. It’s either one of three things… An oven mitt, someone spiked my coffee, or I’m Timothy Leary…Haha!

Not surprised about Gorman, Bling. Even the Redbird field manager has deduced that it’s inconceivable to platoon a player that leads his team in every significant offensive category. And oh, he leads the entire NL in both SLG and OPS. Edit; Whoops…Sorry jj. I thought that was the Blingster…Haha!

I don’t partake in alcoholic beverages but if I did tonight would be the night.

Looks like I’ll have to take 3 sips of Scotch tonight (one each for gscott, 1td and me).

Just keep a close eye on your drink, Euro. With Yepez out there you don’t want to unexpectedly experience countless iridescently colored daisies and butterflys to suddenly appear and begin to flutter uncontrollably throughout the room…Bad trip, man…Haha!

Best I can tell, tonight will be only the second appearance in the Big Leagues for Red’s LHP Williamson. You know what that means. In his debut appearance he received a no decision in a 3-1 Red’s W at COL in which he worked 5.2 IP and allowed 1 ER on 2 hits, 2 BB’s and K’d 6. I don’t like the looks of it…

As I stated way earlier, Nudie Bar would get the night off tonight.

And some thought I was nuts.

However, I am somewhat confused as to why Arenado and Goldschmidt need another day off. Arenado has played in 46/48 and Goldy 47/48. Some of those have been as the DH as well. Maybe it’s time they do get a day off, not sure. But I wouldn’t do it in Cincinnati at that band box. I’d wait until this weekend in Cleveland.

I also noticed that Bell went out and got Williamson after only 72 pitches. I wondered why, so I checked and with no score in the 5th he allowed a 1 out solo tater and subsequent 2 out BB. Bell went to his BP with a RHP to face the RH hitting Diaz who promply doubled to place runners at 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs after which Grichuk K’d…Haha!

My our offense will matriculate a cornucopia to make up for short changing Monty thus far.

No worries, 1td. At my current level of life experience, if I do even a little more than one round after dinner, it will put me in a dark state of unconsciousness — otherwise known as sleep.

They probably don’t have access to Mo’s hotline like you and Oli do. At least they didn’t say I see you’re nuts.

Haha!…Hank Stram’s definition of “matriculate”…”Look for 65 toss power trap…It might pop wide open, Rats…C’mon boys, pump it right in there baby! Did I tell you that baby was there, Rats? Haha! Haha! Yessir boys, yessir!”

I could watch and listen to that a thousand times and anyone that hasn’t seen and heard it owes it to themselves to check it out. At one time NFL football was a darn good game.

I’m always amused by the old, “He was already scheduled for a day off anyway,” trick…I guess it’s okay right now, but when the Redbirds were 10 games back how much longer could they have afforded to use that mundane and weary line? I guess if a guy’s due a day off you have to give it to him even if it falls on the same day as a 7th game…Haha!
