Max Muncy from the Dodgers got ejected during Sunday’s game. Then later he said the Cardinal catchers were bullying the umpires. All I can say is to quote a famous player…..”IT’S THE BIG LEAGUES, MAN!”
Muncy offered up and fouled off the 1-1 pitch which was at his shoelaces and clearly the worst pitch of any of the strikes in the entire sequence. Someone should possibly bully him into recognizing the strike zone.
Yeah, I guess most snow plow operators schedule their vacations as soon as the temperatures fall below the freeze mark.
Another rumor – DeJong to the Dodgers? With Winn on the threshold, perhaps this might be a possibility?
Tonight’s Redbird SP’er is 2-6 with a 4.21 ERA in 51.1 IP during 9 GS. Certainly not spectacular, but with the exception of the W/L record, reasonably respectable. Another NL SP’er of some note is 1-5 with a 5.05 ERA in 57.0 IP during 9 GS. The latter set of numbers belong to last season’s NL CYA winner. Hey, it’s a little consolation…
I should probably refrain from doing so with the Redbirds facing a rookie LHP’er, but I’m going to guess that Goldy collects 7 or 8 TB’s along with 3 or 4 RBI’s and that Gorman continues to demonstrate that he should be placed in the starting line-up vs. LHP’ing.
I wonder why the Cardinals only wear the navy blue caps and batting helmets when they play the Reds or Nats. It’s the best looking road uniform in the Big Leagues.
Well, I had hoped Montgomery would hit the ground running, but to paraphrase Les Nessman, he hit the ground like a bag of wet cement.
Well, anything hit to left outside of a routine fly ball is recorded as a double. That’s kind of inconvenient when you want to win.
Fortunately the Reds suck and Paulie D now hits home runs with ease. Still has to get to 70 of them before BB will pay his option.

I didn’t have time to key it in, but I was going to say I thought I’d never say it, but right now, I can’t think of too many players I’d rather see step in with 2 baserunners aboard than DeJong…Haha!
Williamson doesn’t look a lot unlike Matz, so I’m sure the Cards’ hitter just feel like they’re gonna score big today.
