Didnt get to see end but nice to get a win. I’m not going to read too much into it. Overall pitching wasnt great but offense made up for it. Still would be nice to win a series at some point here. Maybe our offense can carry the pitching for a while.
The offense got 10 hits, so maybe it is perking up finally. We’re not going to get 5 unearned runs very often, though. The problem of the 5 inning starts continues. A pen that gives up leads continues. So we need to be cautiously optimistic. There is a light in the darkness, we need to fan the flame. Now we need to beat somebody better than the Tigers. Lets do it.
Cubs lose 5-4 at Wrigley. The go ahead and winning run cross HP on a balk in the visitor half of the 14th. Pirates lose 10-1. Reds losing 17-4. Brewers protecting a 5-2 lead in the home half of the 7th at SF.
Well, 9 back is a start. Different sport, but some of you may recall Al McGuire. He always used to say in his thick Brooklyn accent, “Just get it down to single digits and you got a chance.” He was really good to listen to on the telecasts during what I feel was the emerging heyday of college basketball.
