He is going to have to keep doing it for a while to convince me.
May 3, 2023 at 8:24 pm #218814Tuned in late to a 1 run Redbird lead. I’m pressing the pause button.
May 3, 2023 at 8:28 pm #218815Bringing Hicks into a game with a 1 run lead?
Marmol has learned nothing.
May 3, 2023 at 8:31 pm #218816Sure looks like it. We’ll see what happens.
May 3, 2023 at 8:33 pm #218817Eh, he’s been better lately.
May 3, 2023 at 8:35 pm #218818Worked out good, but I know what everyone was thinking after the BB to the first hitter he faced to move the tying run over and put the lead run at 1B. Living on the edge, I guess.
May 3, 2023 at 8:38 pm #218819Ohtani only went 5 IP and it took him 97 pitches. He would fit right in here. Maybe Mo is thinking the same thing.
May 3, 2023 at 8:43 pm #218820Hicks has been way better.
May 3, 2023 at 8:45 pm #218821I don’t drink anymore.
May 3, 2023 at 8:45 pm #218822I’m ecstatic Carlson is getting playing time lately. He’s taken a lot of good at bats where he battled for a long time or hit the ball hard into an out. I’m thrilled he got the big homer. His defense is so much better than what we’ve seen from others in CF this season. He is a coach’s son who blossomed early and is still watching and finding ways to improve his game.
May 3, 2023 at 8:45 pm #218823I don’t drink any less but I don’t drink any more….
May 3, 2023 at 9:00 pm #218825I agree jnevel. Carlson needs to play everyday. I am glad Mo’s spreadsheets finally figured that out.
I also like Helsley in the 7th and 8th with Gallegos in the 9th. Just seems like a better fit to me.
May 3, 2023 at 9:04 pm #218826Best way to protect this 1 run lead is to push 5 or 6 across this inning.
May 3, 2023 at 9:16 pm #218827So much for Gallegos in the ninth. I jinxed it.
May 3, 2023 at 9:19 pm #218828Trout will destroy that pitch every time. And then he’ll do it again.
May 3, 2023 at 9:21 pm #218829Yep, your fault gscott. They should’ve let Helsley go full on Bruce Sutter tonight, haha. Of course who am I kidding? That woulda failed too.
May 3, 2023 at 9:22 pm #218830ZTR picked a bad night to stop drinking any more.

ParticipantI’ve finally gotten to watch a game. Was pretty good for a while. Both starters pitched well, arenado had some good at bats. But gallegos laid an egg. I know some like him in the ninth, I don’t. I prefer helsley there. In fact I would have been tempted to use helsley in the ninth since he hadn’t thrown many pitches. But it is what it is. Maybe we can make it exciting in the bottom.
May 3, 2023 at 9:23 pm #218832Sounded like the crowd let ’em have it pretty good.
May 3, 2023 at 9:25 pm #218833Yep, 1td, I don’t think Johnny should lecture the crowd on patience any time soon.
May 3, 2023 at 9:25 pm #218834I also like Helsley in the 7th and 8th with Gallegos in the 9th. Just seems like a better fit to me.
Sure about that? These guys find ways to breakdown.
May 3, 2023 at 9:25 pm #218835What a revolting development.
May 3, 2023 at 9:26 pm #218836As Shannon used to say, “Boo go the fans.” Lol
May 3, 2023 at 9:28 pm #218837I haven’t seen a camera shot of Johnny tonight, but I tuned in late, Euro. I saw his secretary sitting in his sky box, but that’s it.
May 3, 2023 at 9:29 pm #218838The only saving grace for tonight is that:
Reds lost
Cubs lost
Pirates lost
Milwaukee is losing 4-0 in the 7th at Mile High Stadium in Denver -
