Last year Noot was always in the middle of things. This year so far there haven’t been many things to be in the middle of, so his impact has been muted even though he’s been getting on base better than ever.

Din din tonight is a skillet fried ham steak, a real fatty. Bundles of fresh green beans wrapped in bacon and cooked in the oven. For desert is homemade shortcake and backyard strawberries. I forgot to get cream to whip but we have the kind in a spray can.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I always looked upon Dave Kingman and Adam Dunn as cut from the same cloth in regards to the type of offensive players they both were. Immense power, lifetime BA’s in the .230’s and both perennial league leaders at falling victim to the K. I was surprised to see one glaring difference. They’re separated by a 60 pt. difference in career OBP and this wide margin is entirely due to either the ability or willingness to draw a BB.

Don’t get it mixed up with that can of pine tar. I’d imagine it’d ruin those nice strawberries and shortcake…

Cardinals have one OFer with a positive WAR. Of course a significant part of that is how they’ve been misemployed defensively.

Oli: Ok guys, tonight we’re going to pop open a spray can of woopass.

Haha!…I’m genuinely afraid he may say something along those lines and they’ll beat the poor little guy up.

All of our potential trade chips are losing value due to poor performance. That’s not going to be helpful.

Our trade chips are DeJong, Flaherty, Montgomery, Hicks, VerHagen, and Stratton for sure with expiring contracts. I have said O’Neill and will keep saying O’Neill. Possibly Edman or Donovan, Helsley, if the price was right. I think we all wish someone would take Matz, but don’t think anybody would.

Great hit by Gorman! Ohtani has given up 12 hits this year before Gorman’s. Anyone know how many of those were HRs (if any)?

Ohtani gave up 2 HRs his last start.

He only gives up homers to last place teams.

That was brutal leaving Burleson on third after he was there with no outs.

    Ugh. 1-3 now.

I’m ready for Cardinals’ offense to explode…

Great, maybe there’s hope for us if he stays in the game!

The way things are going, it would probably just blow itself up.

The FO has managed to assemble a starting rotation not only without an ace but also not even a #2 guy.

Montgomery is a solid #3, Mikolas is a 4/5, Flaherty, Woodford, and Matz truthfully should not be starting for anyone.

Wainwright will be a 4/5 guy.

Liberatore is the only hope we have right now for another 3 guy, maybe a 2?

    It’s just pathetic right now…

It was good to see Carlson hit a RHP. His numbers against RHP have been horrible. I hope this is a trend and not a one-off.

I was thinking he has no chance from the left side. That’s what I get for thinking.
