Whitey Herzog would be proud of that sac bunt and rbi to the opposite field.

We need about five more runs to feel comfortable at Coors.

Jnevel, that’s kinda what I think. After this game, I’m going to look it up for last season.

Helsley just wants to give them a sporting chance.

Was that bunt a barrel? His exit velo took a hit.

That’s a winner. Nice job of pitching to Moustakas!

Good to get back in the W column.

This is how we are going to have to win games this year. Outslug the opponent. Can’t count on the pitching staff until Mo brings in reinforcements in late July.

I’d say that was much needed W. I was more than a little skittish watching the tying run step into the box 3 times, but Helsley preseved it.

I really think the pitching coach must be a big part of the problem.

You guys can thank me for that win. Tomorrow will be more disappointment as I will be in the stands. But I got an idea. Maybe I will show up in Rockies gear – that might just be the ticket to attend a game and see a Cardinal win.

Hey Bikemike…Simply throw a couple of oven mitts onto the field of play and maybe when you get ejected from Coors Field it’ll fire your team up…Haha!

    Mikolas’s pitching line: 5 IP, 10 H, 6ER, 2BB, 3K.

His ERA on the season is 10.05, and his LMAO is through the roof.

A strong case can be made that Walker and Gorman are two of the best hitters on this team at the moment. I’ve seen enough of Manny Motter, so Gorman needs to play everyday and Walker needs to head north in the order.

The trio of Mikolas, Matz and Woodruff have all allowed ER’s as if they were collecting them as a hobby. At this juncture, Monte is the only member of the 5 man who’s featured nice work because there’s no way Mr. Jack will ever be able to sustain any sort of success with the current rate of BB’s.

Is there any other rookie in either league who is featuring a performance anywhere near to what we’ve seen from Jordan Walker this season?

I found some solace in the fact that the Dodgers are at .500 and trailing the DBacks in the NLW, and the Astros are 5-7. And the Cubbies are boasting a winning record, so yeah, it’s real early. And while I was checking around, I noticed that the Tampa team still has yet to lose a game and, at 11-0, is 2 wins shy of tying the record of 13 straight W’s to open a season. I’d sure trade places with them. Heck, if my favorite team won 11 in a row out of the gate, I’d probably stop paying attention until they announced the post-season roster…

I like the way Cabrera pitched last night. He threwhis breaking more often, and throw it for strikes. Thaa improvement should keep hitters off his fastball.
