And Ginkel retires bothTurner and Harper on successive lazy fly ball outs with the tying runs aboard. That had to have been a heart pounder for any Dback fan…Haha!

Ginkel living a charmed life against Harper. He threw him two breaking pitches out of the zone, but two fastballs that were center-center. Harper flew out to CF on the 2nd fastball. I gotta admit, I would’ve pitched Harper like there was an open base (there was, but it was 3B).

This has turned out to be a good 7th game after last night’s clunker.

Yeah, no kidding, Euro. I was astounded that Harper got to see two fastballs.

Trea Turner trying to duplicate Willie Mays’ great catch in the 1954 Series. Of course Mays’ catch was on a 420-foot fly and Turner’s was on a 160-foot bloop, but still a great catch.

Wow, Ginkel takes care of the Phils in order in the 8th as if that’s what they pay him to do. Impressive K-ing the side.

That snag in CF by Mays may be the number one iconic photo image in the history of baseball. I’ve studied those photos up close and it’s interesting all across the board. The expressions on the faces of the fans in the stands, the architectural features of the Polo Grounds deep OF area etc. It’s an extra cool image when studied up close. And hey, the number 24 on the back of the jersey is enough in and of itself…Haha!

“THE CATCH” Turner’s grab honestly did make me think of it.

Close game, final inning, Game 7, NLCS, working on my 2nd bowl of Turkey Hill vanilla bean ice cream. Other than the teams involved, could it be any better?

Take a close look at the OF area in those photos sometime, Euro. No picnic playing that OF. The distance marker to Willie’s left reads 483 ft…Haha!

Bottom of 9th coming up. Phils have the bottom of the order up.

I’m taking a shine to this AZ team, Euro. They finished up the regular season at six games above .500…Sound familiar?

I know it was a deep CF, 1td. I recall some of the fan expressions in the video clips. Great stuff.

Same here 1td. I don’t want to get emotionally attached, but kinda feeling I want the DBacks to win. Felt similarly about Texas over Houston. Won’t be surprised at all to see the Phils top of the order lead a walk off comeback. However, Castellanos just made the 1st out.

Wonder if Marsh ever trims up that beard or hair? Also wonder what his grooming frequency is? He just flew out. Phils down to their last out.

Jake Cave batting .212 and OPSing .620 is your last hope. As Verizon would say, that’s not your best plan.

Big media has to be cursing these playoffs. It’s Arlington and Phoenix. Two storied big league towns steeped in a tradition of baseball excellence and emblematic of our national pastime.

HFA at Citizen’s Bank isn’t all it’s cracked up to be in elimination games. I’m thinking of Ryan Howard blowing out a tie rod end on the last out of the ’11 NLDS. I give AZ a lot of credit. They swept a very good Dodger team and then went into hostile territory to win the 6th and 7th game of this NLCS. And they did it without anyone named Randy Johnson or Curt Schilling.

Yeah, they sure must be, Euro. One good thing about it is that there shouldn’t be any delays or cancellations due to inclimate weather. Edit…I’m also trying to think if there’s ever been a WS in which both team’s locations were represented by an entire state rather than a city. I can’t think of one.

Lol, you’re not the only guy tonight who thought about Howard’s injury. In the bottom of the 9th tonight, I thought about Carpenter and Halladay, thinking I wouldn’t mind a repeat of their bottom of the 9th, except for the blown Achilles.

AZ has fans in SoCal, New Mexico and Nevada. Texas has some fans in Louisiana and Oklahoma but yeah it’s not a ton outside of those municipalities. Texas might not even own Texas due to the Astros and Arizona may not completely own Arizona due to all the transplants from other area’s
