Nice! 1 2 3…I’m with you, Jnevel. Still have 5 innings to push across 4 runs.

Almost a 3-run homer from O’Neil. But almost doesn’t count for much, does it?

Hmmm . . . Sticking with Thompson. That wasn’t the plan I just drew up and sent to Ollie. Must be a communication breakdown.

Haha!…He only listens to Johnny, Jnevel.

All right then. Well, at least 2 innings from the great Andre P then. Begin to stretch him out. It’s going to be important later. Just like last year.

Nice job by Thompson to befuddle the Braves for an inning and 2/3.

Even down by 3, I wouldn’t mind seeing Eddie take off.

Woodford’s HR/FB luck seems to have come home to roost already. He gave up one, I believe, over all those innings from Sept 2021 through the end of last year. Hopefully he can get it back on track next start.

5 curveballs below the zone to Burleson in a row striking him out swinging. Ugh.

Not too good…Hoodwinked him 3 times on the same pitch

Stlcard25 – that last one he gave up to Acuna probably could have been caught. I’m fairly confident that Bader would have gotten it. But still, it’s a long long fly ball that you don’t want to see.

I guess Marmol gave up on this one.

So if Flaherty is hurt and Woodford isn’t the answer, who do they go with besides Liberatore in the near term? Hudson? Stretch out Pallante?

No worries Jnevel. I couldn’t help but notice the following ERAs in the box score: Hicks 20.25 (and probably rising), Mikolas 13.50, Woodford 12.46, Helsley 6.75, Monty 5.40, Stratton 5.40. They’ll all be fine. They’re all just trying to set themselves up for the Most Improved Pitcher Award at the end of the season.

It took Jordan 6 pitches to get one in the zone.

But I’m not giving up hope on him. He’s been effective as a reliever. Just had a bad stint as a starter.

Is that the first out Hicks has recorded this season?

Euro, I hope that’s not their plan!

All of those ERAs are likely inflated. But Mikolas is the only one that I’m sure is inflated. The rest could be real or close to reality.

Did I just hear some fans who think Hicks’ first name is Boog?

Stephen Hawking may not be able to accurately calculate Hick’s ERA after this one…

Hicks needs to be sent to AAA if possible or sent packing! His time is St.Louis has run its course! He will benefit from a fresh start and we will obviously benefit by giving up less runs!

Well, he is dead. So I’m pretty sure you’re right.

Yeah, Steve60. Marmol packed this one in when he handed him the baseball.

Hicks can’t be sent to AAA. So either he figures it out, gets released, or gets traded. I’m hoping for the former. They changed how he’s throwing his breaking pitches this year so it may just take a little adjustment time. But it sure has been ugly so far.

Well yeah, you’re right, Jnevel…He’ll have to ask the Big Guy for help to get it right…

Hicks gave up 2 runs that inning to lower his ERA from 20.25 to 19.29.

And there’s a homer. I’d like another thank you.
