Alcantara not sharp today for Miami – walked 4 in 5.2 innings.
March 30, 2023 at 5:49 pm #215038Edman with a really nice looking scoop, spin and bullseye. Reminds me the infield defense is what I enjoyed most about last year’s team.
March 30, 2023 at 5:55 pm #215039Pallante loses the speedy Merrifield after being ahead in the count…..but gets out of it.
March 30, 2023 at 6:02 pm #215040Too early to PH or sac?
March 30, 2023 at 6:05 pm #215041Uh oh. The youngster gets a chance to rouse the home crowd…
March 30, 2023 at 6:05 pm #215042Junior up with the sacks jammed!
March 30, 2023 at 6:06 pm #215043He gets down the line real good and picks up the go ahead RBI.
March 30, 2023 at 6:06 pm #215044Puts it in play – a little hesitation at second and Walker beats it out. 7-6.
March 30, 2023 at 6:07 pm #215045Guerrero with a nice play – they have made a couple of plays to stay in this one. The catch by Springer earlier and now this one.
March 30, 2023 at 6:10 pm #215046Never like Hicks in a close one. But it’s a new season and maybe he will show better command.
March 30, 2023 at 6:12 pm #215047Can’t catch a break.
March 30, 2023 at 6:12 pm #215048Wow – talk about a couple of cheap hits. Sheesh!
March 30, 2023 at 6:13 pm #215049HP ump Iassogna just called a strike on Donovan that was at least a half foot off the plate and completely changed the complexion of the at bat. Clearly Iassogna is a subset of his name.
March 30, 2023 at 6:13 pm #215050Both hits on pitches that overmatched the hitter. Evil baseball gypsies at work today…
March 30, 2023 at 6:14 pm #215051Why is Hicks pitching the 8th? Most predictable way to lose a lead late. Are Gio & Helsley both not available?
March 30, 2023 at 6:14 pm #215052This ain’t good.
March 30, 2023 at 6:24 pm #215053As I said, never like Hicks in close games. Just does not have the command you need to keep runners off base. But he did deserve better on those first two hits.
Hopefully he did not seriously hurt our new catcher. Contreras looked good on both offense and defense.
March 30, 2023 at 6:30 pm #21505417 Toronto bingles. That’s a boat load of hits to overcome. You don’t lose too many when you have 17 base knocks.
March 30, 2023 at 6:37 pm #215055Cards back in the lead, 2-run double by Arenado. Pen gets a 3rd chance to save it.
March 30, 2023 at 6:38 pm #215056Goldy and Noley Clutch!!
March 30, 2023 at 6:39 pm #215057Good idea trying the bunt with Knizner, but lousy execution. Looked like he has never worked in it.
March 30, 2023 at 6:41 pm #215058Arenado really keeps his head down on the ball. Text book way to hit.
March 30, 2023 at 6:42 pm #215059Assume we will see Helsley here.
March 30, 2023 at 6:43 pm #215060What were the odds the Cards would have lost this game scoring 9 runs? Next to zero, I’d think. So obviously Helsley will save it now.
March 30, 2023 at 6:45 pm #215061I like Helsley’s haircut, but so much his control on his 4-pitch walk to start the 9th.
