#STLCards manager Oli Marmol said the decision to start Jordan Walker in RF as opposed to LF came down to the rookie’s comfort level.
After switching from 3B to OF last August, Walker played predominantly in RF with Double-A Springfield.
Today, he makes his MLB debut there.

What’s with Goldschmidt swinging at these pitches way out of the zone? Then takes a pitch that should have been strike three, but gets a break.
Gorman needs to lay off that pitch with two strikes. Make him bring it in the zone. A pet peeve of mine is letting pitches down the middle go, then swinging at pitches you cannot do anything with even if you make contact.
Thought Walker would be ready to unload on that 3-2 if it was anywhere near the zone, which you figure it likely would be.
Swanson looked good – surprised they are removing him. But that is how they play it today. It’s not about how good a guy is going, but more about pitch count and match up. Got the lefties coming up. I would have let him go after Donovan, then bring him in to face Noot if BD got on.
We know that replacement mantra all too well when Marmol replaced Quintana last year when he was sailing along in the WC game.
And both lefty hitters get on!!
