Yes, the Dutch were playing more and more. We were there in the early 2000s. Coached my son’s little league Netherlands team, so we saw a lot of Dutch and German teams. We also went to the Musial Little League Training Center in Kutno Poland for the European Little League Regional Tournament. Very nice facility that was opened by “The Man” himself in an official town ceremony. Winner there goes on to Williamsport (which was Saudi Arabia). Other nations I remember having teams at the tournament were Italy, Spain, France and Austria. I’m missing a couple.

    NL OF – Aaron?

Didn’t you say Griffey was one of the AL OFers?

I’ll go with Dwight Evans for the hard to get AL OFer.

Yes forsch, I went with Griffey as AL OFer. Did he play long enough in the NL to be a double dipper? He wasn’t as good then, though.

EuroDandy…I’ll be darned. Even though I should have, it never once occured to me to think of looking for anything related to Musial in Poland. I once visited Poland for about a week with Mrs. 1TD and some others. We travelled there on a bus tour that she lined up. She required me to ride along in search her quest for Polish pottery…Haha! Unexpectedly, I had a great time. Poland was awesome and very affordable at the time we were there.

Dickerson is fizzling. Whiffed right though a center-center straight one for the K. Gotta nail those.

Forsch31…No, Aaron only won 3 GG’s. Clemente and Griffey Jr. have both been answered correctly as one of the OF’ers for the NL and AL respectively.

Well, Mikolas has his obligatory run to work with…

Mikolas recovers from 3-1 to K Yelich. the 1st batter. Even though he pitched a great game last outing, he started that one out with some command issues. Hopefully we want see many more 3-1 counts tonight.

Now Edman makes an excellent play to get Adames by an eyelash. That’s big because the Cards couldn’t seem to get Adames out last series. The Tellez flies out, Mikolas uses 11 pitches in the 1st.

The answer to the 2nd baseball trivia question is Bill White. White won a total of 7 GG’s and places second behind Keith Hernandez who was awarded a total of 11. Both former Redbird 1B’men won their total number of GG awards consecutively.

Not sure I’ve ever seen Eddie make a significant mental mistake until just now.

2 runs already not bad. Rather see them running than just whiffing everything. Off to a good start so far!
Din-Din-din was PIZZA! Everybody loves pizza. Sittin here in Fla waiting for the hurricane to hit. Miami’s up on their nemesis tonight the Mets but we got Cardinals on MLB extra innings.
Cool deal Rats getting a new Mustang GT. Maybe one of the last of the V-8’s and really neat cars too.Go Cardinals!

I’m not sure what happened. I’m watching the Brewers broadcast and you couldn’t tell. Maybe you had a different camera angle and can explain. Was he asleep or did he wander too far? I was feeling Donovan might do something after the plate ump refused to give him the walk after ball 5.

The answers to the first trivia questions are as follows. I hope they’re right…Haha!

NL; P Greg Maddux, C Johnny Bench, 1B Keith Hernandez, 2B Ryne Sandberg, 3B Mike Schmidt, SS Ozzie Smith, OF’ers Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays, Andruw Jones

AL; P Jim Kaat, C Ivan Rodriquez, 1B Don Mattingly, 2B Roberto Alomar, 3B Brooks Robinson, SS Omar Vizquel, OF’ers Ken Griffey Jr, Al Kaline, Ichiro Suzuki

Side note…Nado will tie Schmidt this off season and I can’t see any reason why Omar Vizquel is not a member of the HOF. Eleven GG’s at SS and 2877 hits. Why isn’t he in there?

EuroDandy…It looked to me like he started an attempt to steal 3B and then tried to get back when Houser stepped off and caught him leaning. No reason to try to steal 3B with 2 outs, right?

A lot of those answers look obvious now, but missing Brooks is like Michael Jordan blowing an open dunk shot.

Not sure either Euro I am watching the same telecast. They said something about Houser stepping off. Must have gotten caught stealing.Too far away from base for a lead off.

Modern voters will look at his 45.6 WAR over 24 years, and the fact that he only got an MVP vote once in his entire career. He was also a considerably below average hitter. Finally, he’s had some fairly strong allegations against him more recently that might make his inclusion even more problematic; whether that’s right or wrong is for others to decide but voters do get swayed by non baseball matters at times.

Just my opinion…..but I think if a pitcher has to go out mid “at bat” because of injury… the
batter should get a clean slate and start the “at Bat” over with zero strikes and zero balls.

Card667 aced the AL 1B position with Don Mattingly. I didn’t expect anyone to get that one so quickly

He’s from Evansville, as am I. So I know a bit about him. I only remember him playing late in his career. My dad played against him though and claims Mattingly is 0-3 with a K against him. I believe Mattingly was a Fr. or So. when my dad was a Sr. and they played.

I am left handed and played 1B and the guy I watched and tried to mimic around the bag was JT Snow.
