I mentioned 2 or 3 times during the offseason that I thought the one thing that this team lacks is a lockdown closer. The front office and the manager surely knew that, so I guess we can assume there wasn’t one to be had. Hicks has closer pitches but he wants to to be a starter. I hope he becomes a top of rotation guy. It’s possible.
If Gallegos continues as our closer, I think there will be more games like the one last night. His pitches lack movement and he’s up in the zone too much.
