We made it to page 2 and forgot to mention that Waino and Yadi will set a record tonight with their 325th start as a battery. It would be pretty sweet to make #325 a shutout!
September 14, 2022 at 6:02 pm #200536Although I’m really happy to see Wainwright/Molina get the battery-mate record in tonight’s ballgame, I genuinely feel that the Cardinal marketing kids and even the local media outlets are promoting it with a bit more hype that this sort of record deserves. I mean, it’s nice and all. They’re two of my all time favorite Redbird players, but before they started getting somewhat close to the record, I wasn’t even aware that Lolich and Freehan held this record, and they were both two guys that I was very familiar with as a kid growing up. In any event, the battery-mate record, to me, would have been not at all unlike a trivia type baseball question just a few years ago.
September 14, 2022 at 6:06 pm #200537It has been a surprise that Albert has had such a good final season. But it is not unprecedented. Just because a guy plays better does not mean he has juiced up.
I don’t think Albert’s character is such that he would do that. Could be wrong obviously. But that is my opinion.
September 14, 2022 at 6:10 pm #200538BikeMike…I genuinely think he’s playing better because he’s amped up…Not on the juice, but on the fact that he’s back in a Redbird uniform and playing in front of the fans who love watching him destroy the baseball during a genuine pennant race. Just like old times! No question about it…
September 14, 2022 at 6:48 pm #200539No pun intended…. but we need to Burn Burnes up tonight!!!!!!
September 14, 2022 at 7:00 pm #200542Waino dances around some trouble in the first and comes out unscathed.
September 14, 2022 at 7:01 pm #200543Worked hard for the money, but he works out of it.
September 14, 2022 at 7:23 pm #200547Adam leaving a lot of pitches up. That could get costly.
September 14, 2022 at 7:24 pm #200548Waino is not at his best again tonight. We are gonna have to hope that Burnes is not, either.
September 14, 2022 at 7:28 pm #200549Well, that’s a solid start to the inning…Arenado homers and Donovan singles.
September 14, 2022 at 7:35 pm #200550And just like that Billy -Nado swung his bat and knocked a dinger over the wall and tied the game! And then Yadi hit a base hit and knocked Donovan in to go ahead!
September 14, 2022 at 7:39 pm #200551Lotta hits both teams so far. Waino needs to get that curve to bite down or its gonna be a long night JJ
September 14, 2022 at 7:40 pm #200552I guess we won’t see many more first-pitch get-ahead-in-the-count tosses from Burnes.
September 14, 2022 at 7:43 pm #200553That Wong bloop coulda been caught!
September 14, 2022 at 7:44 pm #200554EuroDandy…Haha! Ambush…
September 14, 2022 at 7:44 pm #200555Brewers have had many hit balls find the holes so far in this series. They’re on a BABIP roll right now.
September 14, 2022 at 7:46 pm #200556Put it into play and hope.
September 14, 2022 at 7:47 pm #200557I’ve seen that before.
September 14, 2022 at 7:47 pm #200558Yadi guns down the stealing Wong.
September 14, 2022 at 7:48 pm #200559Needed that K / caught stealing.
Almost 70 pitches
September 14, 2022 at 7:49 pm #200560Yep, 1td, that was good to see.
Strike ’em out, throw ’em out. Wainwright needed that. Pitch count was looking awful.
September 14, 2022 at 8:02 pm #200566Nooty Keeper of the Wall!
September 14, 2022 at 8:03 pm #200567This Navarez (Mil catcher), is a FA this winter. Lefty bat, 5mil this season.
September 14, 2022 at 8:06 pm #200568Hard to believe they scored that a base hit on that GB by Yelich.
September 14, 2022 at 8:06 pm #200569Edman makes Donovans error look easy. Extra pitches, dangerous batter….
