DeJong going down is no longer a viable possibility. He has passed the five-year service time threshold and cannot be sent down without his consent. And if optioned, he would have the right to declare free agency instead.

I wouldn’t mind that. With the way Winn has developed, they can roll with Edman, Gorman, and Donovan in the middle infield for 2023 and call up Winn from AAA if there’s an injury.

Waino coughs up the lead. He may not get out of the 4th, and likely the bullpen is going to have to cover after 5 no matter what.

Those outfield mess ups are killers but Waino has been getting alot of guys on base today. Looks like everything hes throwing is soft.

Dickerson was awarded a GG back in 2018, but I don’t know how because he’s hurt the Cardinals several times out in LF this season. Probably want to limit him to DH duties as much as possible in the future.

I’d say that Donnie can hit.

Seems like they are pitching around Edman…this guy really struggles to hit the plate.

A Goldy granny would sure help his Triple Crown case.

stlcard25…I know you’re funnin’, but yeah, no question. They’d rather work to Goldy with the bases jammed than pitch to little Eddie…

DeLuzio singles, Donovan doubles, and Edman walks to load the bases for Goldy. Gray is done. Just one out, so great chance to break this tie.

Back to back pop ups avd the Nationals strategy to pitch around Edman pays off.

Oh no… Nado pops out into the dreaded BLD(bases loaded dud). Him and Dickerson will both get a chance to make it up though. That new pitcher put grease on the ball!

Nado out of sync now that BLD messed up his gyro!

They’re not exactly razor sharp today, but they work around the Arenado errant throw to stay tied 4-4 halfway through the game.

Wooster, way to work in a BLD and gyro reference in the same sentence. And gyro, that’s not a bad din-din option.

Dang Euro you’re way ahead of me. We were just talking about having pizza for dinner-kind of a flattened out gyro! Dickerson was just a tick from hitting that left field corner-twice!

Wooster…Haha! “Gyro”…That’s a perfect call on that particular play!

This Thompson kid had a 7.24 ERA in 2019 in the minors, 5.74 last year in AAA, and 3.52 this year in AAA. What is making him so unhittable at the big league level?

Looks like you’re right Stl25. Debut didn’t last long. Not even 1 AAA inning.

12 base hits given up today. The pitching staff isn’t fooling much of anyone in the Nationals lineup. Gonna have to outslug them late.

Just looking at that too. Too many hits given up today. We only have about 4 guys with 6 hits total. Need some others to get in the game.
