Yadi showing Mr Clutch again too!
September 7, 2022 at 10:13 pm #1996301982 willie
ParticipantWell dang it, I planned to watch the last of the 9th and got distracted and just put it off. Missed an exciting comeback.
September 7, 2022 at 10:16 pm #199631You missed a dandy, Willie. Wooster and Oliver saw it though. Boy are Euro, Bling and TD going to be happy tomorrow morning when they open their sports pages up, as they thought this game was going into Washington’s win column and thus turned in early……the early bird gets the worm, gentlemen…..hmmm not sure if those last words necessarily fit, but what the heck we got the big improbable “W”.
September 7, 2022 at 10:20 pm #199632I’m afraid big Albert’s going to hurt little Eddie. He was bear hugging him and patting him on the top of his head like a giant handles a mouse… Little Eddie’s tough, he can take it!
September 7, 2022 at 10:20 pm #199633Two outs bottom of the 9th. That’s what we watch the game for. Edmonds..
September 7, 2022 at 10:24 pm #199634I’m dancing!
September 7, 2022 at 10:25 pm #199635Yadi showing Mr. Clutch again too!
You’re absolutely correct, Wooster. I recently had Yadi written off. I actually didn’t want him to come back from his latest whirlwind weekend of basketball in Puerto Rico. But you know, maybe Yadi needed that time away to get him physically and emotionally prepared for one final big grand push. Good move by Mollie in letting Yadi depart. He looked so weak at the plate that I just couldn’t visualize Yadi getting it done offensively. Shows you what I know .
September 7, 2022 at 10:26 pm #199636Haha! Eddie didn’t quit running until he was at 3B… He wanted a triple!
September 7, 2022 at 10:27 pm #199637TD! I thought you were counting sheep instead of hits and runs.
September 7, 2022 at 10:29 pm #199638Pugs…I’m with you on that. He looked over-matched in the batter’s box for a long while. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Molina has a big post-season series somewhere along the line during Oct.
September 7, 2022 at 10:31 pm #199639Pugs…Haha! I’ve been right here. Down by 4 runs in the 9th doesn’t bother me too much for the simple reason that, “youneverknow!”
September 7, 2022 at 10:36 pm #199640You’re a true trooper, TD. Not to get ahead of ourselves here….. we’ve had several diamond in the rough first class new posters here this year, but I think you pretty much have The Cardinal Nation Rookie of The Year honors all sewn up.
September 7, 2022 at 10:37 pm #199641Tommy Edman may not be a big name star, but he’s a genuine winner…Just like this entire ballclub.
September 7, 2022 at 10:39 pm #199642Tough luck no-decision for Monte, but the Redbirds are now 7-0 in his 7 turns. Not too shabby.
September 7, 2022 at 10:42 pm #199643I’m dancing!
Ohhh I’m sure you are, GameCard. Eddie’s your boy. Eddie is locked, loaded and ready to almost single-handedly propel these Cardinals into November play…… I’m not sure what date a potential WS Game7 is slated for this year?
September 7, 2022 at 10:47 pm #199644Eddie and Monty are both my boys. I saw Monty pitch at every home game in college.
September 7, 2022 at 10:51 pm #199645At the time did you think Monty had a realistic chance at making it to the majors…..let alone an upper top of the rotation type of hurler, GameCard?
September 7, 2022 at 10:56 pm #199646Gamecard…I’ll be darned! Are you in SC?
September 7, 2022 at 10:59 pm #199647Yes! Columbia SC…I am a season ticket holder at Carolina games. Monty played on the 2012 team that was the runner-up in Omaha.
September 7, 2022 at 11:01 pm #199648PA…I thought he had a chance. He was good in the SEC and if you can do it there then you have a realistic chance in MLB.
September 7, 2022 at 11:02 pm #199649Gamecard…Haha! Man, you must have aligned the stars that sent him to the Redbirds…Haha!
September 7, 2022 at 11:03 pm #199650I was very happy with the trade. I don’t like the Yankees.
September 7, 2022 at 11:12 pm #199652In an indirect reference to Monte, I have to believe that all hunters of raw baseball talent have no choice but to salivate over a young, 6′-6″ 230 lb. LHP who can throw hard.
September 7, 2022 at 11:26 pm #199653Boy are Euro, Bling and TD going to be happy tomorrow morning when they open their sports pages up, as they thought this game was going into Washington’s win column and thus turned in early
Not so fast, Pugs. I haven’t had the fortune to go to sleep yet here in EST zone. Had a few trips to make tonight that prevented me from getting on the laptop, phone or TV. Plus trying to follow US Open tennis too. I was able to finally get in front of a TV for the disastrous 8th, just in time for Voit’s towering blast. Anyway, this kind of win doesn’t happen often. Glad to see Edman with the clutch walk off. That guy brings a nest full of utility for the Redbirds
